The gun supervisor for the film "Rust," on which a crew member was killed after a gun held by actor Alec Baldwin went off during rehearsal, has no idea where the real bullet came from, she says.
Hannah Gutierrez was responding to "untruths that have been told to the media," a statement released Thursday night by her attorneys to NBC News said. She’s screwed professionally that’s for sure. Legally, perhaps negligence but I don’t know specifically what the charge could be - did she carelessly let people take weapons off the set? Did she not check them when they were returned? Was she even on set at the time of the shooting? (Why was the Assistant Director the person to hand over the weapon)? Was she just hired to bring guns to the set and not to work? Lots of details to unearth.
In my mind the person with the weapon in hand is most culpable.

I read in another story that she was not the only one who had the combination to the safe. That she was not the one who handed the gun to the actors. And she was not the one who called it a safe “cold” gun. She was the armorer, but others had access to the gun and did not consider her when getting the gun or handing the gun around on set. She just had the title but none of the responsibilities. That being said the title does come with obligation and blame.

I thought that too, but still the armorer is supposed to check and make sure of the weapon and only then hand it to the actor. You don’t check it and then let it out of your control. There is no excuse for her negligence. Or Baldwin’s.

the “armourer” is an IDIOT if she thinks this will fly. She is in, supposed to be TOTAL control of the armaments, and only prop “loads” would be allowed. Something is going on here, remains to be seen.
This explain will not work.
It would be at least a little more believable had the site spelled Kim Basinger’s name correctly.
