The gun supervisor for the film "Rust," on which a crew member was killed after a gun held by actor Alec Baldwin went off during rehearsal, has no idea where the real bullet came from, she says.
Hannah Gutierrez was responding to "untruths that have been told to the media," a statement released Thursday night by her attorneys to NBC News said. Ask the people who were using it for target practice off site.
While some of this is relevant the fact remains that Baldwin knowingly and willfully pointed a firearm at a human being and then deliberately pulled the trigger.
What he may or may have not been told by someone else is of no legal import.
Baldwin picked up the gun.
Baldwin pointed it at a living human being.
Baldwin fired the weapon and killed a woman.
Don’t let them obfuscate those facts.

doesn’t know how live rounds got there, dint know how to load BLANKS, dint know the guns were being used off set, guns left unattended, just exactly what DOES this koolaidkow know???

People walking off the set before hand because of safety, severely limits what excuses I am willing to listen too. Even thought there are no valid excuses.
I think those on the set were playing with the guns like toys the whole time not just during the shoots. Look at the photo of the armorer holding the pistol like shes an outlaw. Everybody involve is guilty of at least negligence.
It don’t take much time to check the chambers. Which if you knew anything about safe weapons handling, you’d have done with each one. And the director should have checked the chambers. And Baldwin should have checked the chambers. You lose.
Hanna’s problem is she let the gun be used for live fire.
Anyone could have brought live rounds onto the grounds. Maybe even Baldwin. Finger prints on the case of the fired round would reveal a lot. The storage location of the live rounds and finger prints on the boxes will also point to one of the potential responsible parties.
I would never point a muzzle and pull a trigger with anything beyond a squirt gun anyway. With that said, if she was in charge of my firearms, man I would be triple checking everything. Purple hair, tattoo’s, and 24 years old....no trust and triple verifying. Baldwin is an idiot.
Uhm..that’s why there is a paid armorer on set.
She’s a double “minority” and has family connections in the biz. I think she’ll be just fine after this all shakes out.

I also read that they had live rounds in with the blanks.
Having live rounds mixed in with the blanks seems like a very
poor practice also.
This should not go well for anyone with responsibility for
safety on that set.
The crew acting out over a lack of safety, is really going
to anger a judge and jury.
The warning signs were there, and the crew just plowed
through them to this end.
What a needless and easily avoidable end of a life.

$100 million lawsuits incoming. Prosecution may or may not happen, depending on the politics of it all. Baldwin is a leftist icon, a member of a protected class.

It’s always more dangerous to do it without the union. The union makes sure of it.
Conspiracy theory (pure speculation). Consider that one of the people who was complaining about safety might have swapped a couple rounds of blanks for real amo just before walking off the set, to prove a point, and thinking wrongly that the round would be shot in a safe direction which would scare people but not kill anyone.
Lebally it Doesn’t matter how it got there- fact is that it was there, and the amorer didnt check like they are hired to do,, and so failed at their job
