NEVER talk to nut jobs on the subway. Surviving NYC Subways, Tip #1: Always Look Down. More often than not they aren't wearing shoes. Never talk to anyone in NYC, never make eye contact and be aware of your surroundings AT ALL TIMES. Generally it's safe to look at your server or bar tender.
