I wonder when the last time Highway 1 went a year without a significant blockage?

Is this near the place with the $8/gal gasoline?
“Sorry, folks, it’s $12 a gallon until further notice - now, excuse me, I have a rockslide to start...”

I just thought of Ragged Point last night when thinking about all the rain California is getting. ragged Point’s highway area is so prone to mudslides. It’s beautiful there but frightening, too.

Last time I drove it, the significant blockage was some dumb broad that seemed terrified by the road, creeping around every corner. Refused to pull over, and there are no passing zones.
Now, I would just have zapped by when I thought it was clear, not suffered through all that time stuck behind her.
No, you cannot enjoy the view if the car in front of you keeps spasmodically hitting the brakes.
