I didn’t read all the scientific explanations in your xlnt article, but I know it’s correct.

Many years ago, I read a book called “Wheat Belly” by Wm. Davis, MD and took his advice. I was never a big person, but am aging and I want to stay well. I now eat beef, butter, eggs, cheese (If in the mood for it), and lovely fatty avocados many times a week. Within 2 months, my LDL cholesterol went down 30 points and my energy level went up. Lost a few pounds but didn’t really need to. My friend tried the diet too and she lost 20 pounds. Needs to lose more, but she won’t stay on the diet.

Read Wheat Belly. Most libraries in our city have copies and of course AMZ does too. Maybe even large health food stores. I think Natural Grocer carries it.

At this point, I don’t even like the taste of sweet things, and do not miss wheat at all. Ironically, my dad owned a chain of restaurants that sold wonderful sandwiches. Long out of business. But wheat was better ‘way back then.

Do not eat GMO anything, and don’t give it to your cats or dogs either.

No need to eat a farm-hand diet when you don’t work on a farm.

Big pharma doesn’t want diet to work.

It would cut too much into their profits.

How many milligrams of uranium per day shall we consider good for the diet?

Totally skipped was any reference to a hormone called “leptin”.

It’s what tells your brain you’ve had enough to eat.

It’s counteracted by insulin.

So, if you eat a lot of carbohydrates, needing insulin to properly metabolize, your leptin will be cancelled-out, and the more you eat the hungrier you get.

Get rid of the stinkin’ carbohydrates and you’ll lose a lot of weight without even being hungry.

The “Food Pyramid” and all its other demon-spawn low-fat/high-carb derivataives diets are a Crime Against Humanity.

The First Law of Thermodynamics applies to a closed system. No human is a closed system. I agree that getting our hormones out of whack has caused many of us huge issues with weight, and that getting insulin sensitivity back is the key for many of us. But we are not closed systems so the First Law of Thermodynamics just doesn’t apply.
