A racial reckoning began years ago for the Guilford (Connecticut) school system, first with an episode in which a student wore blackface makeup to a home football game and then a fraught debate over the elimination of its mascot, the Indians. After the killing of George Floyd, district leaders announced they were doubling down on efforts to address social justice and racism in schools and teaching materials.
But an organized pushback in the overwhelmingly white community began last year with a petition for the superintendent’s removal. This summer, conservative activists won the GOP’s endorsement for school board, knocking out three incumbents in the Republican caucus. In next week’s elections, their slate aims to seize control of the school board.
The top issue on their platform is to fight critical race theory, which has become a rallying cry for activist candidates in the Nov. 2 elections all over the country who take issue with how schools have addressed diversity and inclusion.
“It was a surprise to me to be lumped in that national conversation,” Superintendent Paul Freeman said. “There have been direct accusations in Guilford that teachers are bullying and indoctrinating children in leftist political agenda. That could not be more wrong.” […]
Critical race theory is a way of analyzing American history through the lens of racism. While the term has been applied broadly by some to any efforts toward inclusion, the theory itself is not a fixture of K-12 instruction. …

The AP hates America....
Guilford is a wealthy town filled with lefty progressive Dems and RINO white shoe Republicans. A serious CRT resistance there for is both unexpected and welcomed.
You gotta go national my friends. Too big to keep small.
I guess we're operating under the theory, if the Dems screw up everything they touch, pretty soon they are likely to piss off some people.
Yes. True, for a long time.

Any freeper of age who has kids in public school should run for school board, now. This is an unprecedented opportunity to make a concrete difference! We used to say “Eagles Up!” Now is the time to fire up. In fact you don’t even need to have kids in public school, but if they’re in private school or home schooled you will suffer in credibility.
In whose eyes are you trying to establish so-called credibility?
The tenth plank of communism reads: “Free education for all children in public schools.” The notion of public education is communistic to the core.
When you get fliers in the mail for a school board member they often come with an endorsement by the teachers' union or other school board members.
Do not vote for any candidate endorsed by the teachers' union or school board members.
If they're endorsed by the teachers' union that means they're working for the interest of the teachers' union and not the students.
Vote for the parent who has kids in school or the outside the teachers' union refuses to endorse.
Make the "Endorsed by the teachers' union' the kiss of death.

That is pure BS. It's a way to raise a generation of US Komsomol (All-Union Leninist Communist League of Youth).
The "teachers" are political operatives in any case.
Beware.
Do not focus on the name.
I expect them to change the name, even to make teaching "CRT" illegal.
They will simply package anti-white race hatred meant to harm little white children under some other name, and go right back to it.
Stick to "It's anti-white, and I object", and be ready for the next version. Forget the name.
What are "efforts toward inclusion"?
