Obviously a real firearm and not a replica built for shooting blanks only.
That’s the attempt by Baldwin’s people or so it is beginning to appear. Really, he needs to be held accountable for not following protocols for firearm safety.
The last safety procedure before he began actively handling that gun was to fire six rounds into the ground-—an industry safety measure (according to John Schneider on a YouTube interview). Plus Baldwin is the producer on the film, and ultimately safety is his responsibility.

The best information I’ve heard is that Baldwin, as producer, did not hire a professional armorer, but left the job to the prop manager, with the result that just about every single rule of firearm safety that I’ve ever heard about was blown off. Howie Carr had a gun dealer on last Friday who said there’s a union for professional armorers, and they had no one there.
