Hannah Gutierrez has been identified as the armorer or weapons handler on the movie, “Rust.” According to reports, she laid out three guns on the Santa Fe set. One of them wound up killing Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza, fired by an unwitting Alec Baldwin.

Gutierrez’s LinkedIn page includes a resume note from this past spring and summer working at Yellowstone Film Ranch in Montana from March through June. She described her job there: “Loading firearms with appropriately sized blanks. Ensuring gun safety on set along with instructing actors on how to use their guns.”

She is young and pretty, and according to LinkedIn a student at Northern Arizona University from 2017 to 2020 in “creative media and film.”

It’s unclear if Gutierrez was union approved or licensed, or still a student.

Ill answer my own qurstion. The actor who fired the shot that killed brandon lee was deemed not responsible because it was a blank in the gun but.... There was a piece of bullet stuck in the barrel that was discharged with the blank that hit brandon lee.... Hmmmm. Several (10k +)thousand rounds fired and I have never seen a bullet leave chunks of itself i. A barrel.

Your input is necessary and welcome to continue to clarify and understand the details of an extremely complex incident.

Certainly the Legal Consequences for Baldwin the Actor will be considerable, but your post allows me to comment on the far more serious responsibilities of Baldwin the Producer.

Producer Baldwin is in a far more serious world of hurt with much less wiggle room and many improper and illegal actions in running this film production, FR is where you'll find the facts, and I'll have a more accurate understanding of 'em.

Excellent, EXCELLENT point! Glad you brought this up. So many of us are focused on his end as an actor and the one who pointed and fired the weapon.

But you are spot on regarding his ultimate liability as one of the producers on the film. In a way he and his attorneys are going to be balancing two different cases. Looks like that money is first going to be drained out by the attorneys.

Now that you've mentioned his culpability as a producer. I am curious as to how both the criminal and civil cases go on BOTH these findings--producer and actor. Appreciate your post.

And Baldwin’s insurance companies will not pay any of the claims against him and his production because Baldwin and his production did not follow standard risk management policies.

The 2 critical questions :

1- Why was live ammo on the set ?

2- What motivated Baldwin to point the gun at the cinematographer and pull the trigger ?

Point the gun at the cinematographer and blast her in the chest at near point blank range.

Also there are conflicting reports whether Baldwin shot her in the chest or shot her in the back.

I suspect her career as a weapons handler on Hollywood movie sets has abruptly come to a close.
The incident isn’t fully her fault.
Somebody put a hot gun in the place where a cold one was expected.
But her name is entwined with this whole sprawling mess.

I don’t understand why there would be any live cartridges on the set at all! What could possibly be the purpose of doing so?

Was this “armorer” incapable of discriminating between a live .45LC round and a blank? (I presume the caliber because it’s a Western)

She is way too young to be a weapons expert. My bet is that she Kamala Harris’d her way to her position.

If she isn’t “union approved” or a union member then the union will crucify her.

Why would union approval make a difference?

Your commentary leaves me with the impression that you are unfamiliar with the history of Union violence and Union antipathy towards "scabs."

This makes a huge difference regarding what happened. As soon as I found out that the armorer was non Union and that there were Union disputes going on regarding the set replacing Union workers with non Union workers, I immediately suspected that one of the Union members deliberately loaded bullets into one or more of the guns just to cause exactly the sort of incident that happened.

Does union membership somehow guarantee competence?

This is a serious question. How "competent" do you have to be to tell when you are loading real bullets into a gun rather than blanks?

I dare say it would be almost impossible to find someone who is familiar with firearms that could make such a mistake.

This smells of a deliberate act of loading of real bullets into a gun, not an accident, not incompetence, but a deliberate act of vicious sabotage with the intent to make an issue out of non union members working on the set.

I think a Union member is behind this.

The purpose of Hollywood media fingering her is to divert attention from the circumstances surrounding the shooting itself, starting with why did Baldwin, an experienced actor and director, point the pistol at the cinematographer and pull the trigger? Did he willfully dismiss the risk? Did he even check the contents and the barrel of the pistol? Were there safety protocols that included his responsibility for handling the pistol safely? Did Baldwin deliberately exclude expert review of his actions?

You are leaving out the Union/non Union dispute which was going on set. This young woman was non Union and the other set members were Union.

I predict that the investigation will reveal a Union member deliberately put real bullets into one or more guns in an effort to make the "scab" look incompetent.

I do not believe anyone could be so incompetent as to put real bullets into a gun that she knows will be fired at other people.

That didn't happen until they have astonishingly good evidence that it did.

Actually, I’ve thought of that as well. In a previous thread I pointed out that the Supreme Court has ruled that violence forwarding union goals cannot be prosecuted under the RICO Act. The fact that union walked off of the set in a pay dispute looks pretty suspicious.

I dare say it would be almost impossible to find someone who is familiar with firearms that could make such a mistake.

That is my thought as well. Anyone who handles guns at all isn’t going to mistake a ‘blank’ from a cartridge with a real bullet. And of course, that begs the question, why would there be any cartridges with bullets allowed on the set at all?

"If you go on google there are multiple stories and there will be for days. When a story is printed on fr it is seen the day it’s posted and after that disappears. Then no more comments on it unless another story is printed on it so I can’t see the harm in posting again."

For new information yes, but after many posts reporting the same event in a few days (and which the post that my search response list responded to, "AUTHORITIES SAY ALEC BALDWIN KILLED A CREW MEMBER WITH PROP GUN ON NEW MEXICO FILM SET," did) then any question not answered in a thread should be posted as such in Chat.

Not outside the realm of the possible, but first we need to establish the responsibility of Baldwin, who was proximate. If the chain of custody was broken and another party snuck a live round it, how and why are pertinent but not exonerating of Baldwin..
