My dad would bury whole carp in his garden.

Reminds me of a chicken poop tip from a friend. They cleaned their chicken poop and put it right into paper feed bags and when they had a full bag they just laid it on top of their garden in the fall, By the time the bag breaks down the poop has aged.

I’ve seen a few youtube gardeners do that. Seems to work pretty well.

I used to put out a thread every month for over two years. You probably read about it on one of those posts. But Diana and I also posted it here for a few months and there was no interest. It’s easy to tell how the people who wanted access heard about it because I would always get requests after I advertised and these were posted on different days than the SHTF ones.

B.o.B! Ah, the blue crumbles under your death head! That's what happened to all of my mothers empty Noxzema containers!

Noxzema (/ n ɒ k ˈ s iː m ə / nok-SEE-mə) is a brand of skin cleanser marketed by Unilever.Since 1914, it has been sold in a small cobalt blue jar. Noxzema contains camphor, menthol, phenol and eucalyptus, among other ingredients.Originally developed as a sunburn remedy, it is frequently used as a facial cleanser and make-up remover. It can also be used for soothing chapped, sunburned, or .

Augie;

After the big rain and the tomato wash out I mentioned possibly rooting tomato suckers to see what could grow with the summer left. I tried that with several suckers at that time and here is one of them. Five Black Krim Tomatos, still green but we should have another week to ripen and I can take them in at any time to the back porch . About 2 weeks ago I cut the top to prevent any further growth. Interesting experiment!

I hope you are enjoying some Cider this fall night!

I am starting to clean up the garden, but I still have some late season tomatoes and peppers hanging on!

Here are the other strung up tomatos; Pineapple and trifle.

And Black Krim, And Trifle (Bunch of Stupice still pumping out small red tomatoes off camera stage right!

Before first frost Ill move them all to a $6 play pool on the porch to ripen. (And till so I can plant next years garlic.)

No, no cow pasture . That particular one was growing in heavy woods on our property. We have 11 acres mostly heavy woods and a valley and creek. We see a lot of different mushrooms.

Very nice & productive! We had the very last of the ripe tomatoes on our salads with supper tonight. I have 6 or so ripening on the kitchen window sill, but they’re pretty much rock hard, still!

I love Noxema! Even the smell.

I have those shards in my two birdbaths - we have a mosquito problem around here and I don’t want any standing water around anywhere.

I bought those from Home Depot - when I was carrying the bag to the backyard, it broke open all over my front yard! I tried to pick up the pieces and cut up my hands - that was a mistake - so I just left them there (I have gravel in my front yard so there was no need to worry about anyone getting their feet cut up).

Now, the leaves are getting in the glass shards from the trees and I’ve tried to remove them as gingerly as possible - not easy with cut class...but it is beautiful. I have amber glass in the other birdbath.

Best,

Bon

I love those nasturtiums! Mine peter out about June/July - but they're already coming up again for next year. My favorites are the "Alaska mix" - tried growing the doubles but they didn't do well.

Love the photo of the pup - we went to a dog party at the local pet store and pup had a great time - lots of treats and playtime.

Here he is in his glow-in-the-dark Halloween T-shirt:
