They said at least one of the camera operators complained last weekend to production managers about gun safety on the set.
Three crew members who were present at the Bonanza Creek Ranch set that day said they were particularly concerned about two accidental prop gun discharges on Saturday.
Baldwin's stunt-double accidentally fired two rounds Saturday after being told that the gun was "cold" — lingo for a weapon that doesn't have any ammunition, including blanks, one of crew members who witnessed the episode told the Los Angeles Times.
"There should have been an investigation into what happened," said the crew member. "There were no safety meetings. There was no assurance that it wouldn't happen again. All they wanted to do was rush, rush, rush."
A colleague was so alarmed by the prop gun misfires he sent a text message to the unit production manager. "We've now had 3 accidental discharges. This is super unsafe," according to a copy of the message reviewed by the Times.

My understanding (and it’s early days yet, so take all information with a bucket of salt) is that there was, in fact, no actual armorer. Just a prop manager, and clearly no one in charge of the weapon itself, or of making sure that anyone who handled it was properly instructed in gun safety. Think of it; every gun safety basic was ignored.
Disarm liberals.
Require universal gun safety instruction.
A prop gun misfire does not amount to a bullet in the belly of a cinema photog.
Lock that bastard up.
Take solice in the fact that Alec baldwin will never work again.
That jackass murdered a young mother and will probably skate.

If it’s a just a blank then it’s not ammunition. Ammo is for killing and wounding or just hitting a bulls-eye...or for Albanians and Arabs to shoot into the air during wedding receptions and funeral wakes.
Why don’t Albanians and Arabs use blanks when they do that sh*t?
That is it in a nutshell.
Firearms are tools to be used in the life of a working man.
They are not tools to be used in the life of a violent man or an idiot from Hollywood.
Hollywood did not invent this tool nor should they exploit it.
People like Alec Baldwin should be no where near it. He is a fool. I would also like to add that the people trying to take this tool away from me can kiss my ass.
I will amend one thing on that.
My neighbors firearms may be for 2A rights.

The “John Wick” films have replaced all the blood “squibs” and some of the actual shooting with CGI. It would be a no-brainer to replace semi-auto’s with prop guns that cycled. In fact, some of the newer airsoft guns cycle and look just like the real thing while doing it.

You are probably correct criminally, but since scumbag Baldwin is the Producer of this movie I believe he will see major civil litigation. He ran a mickey mouse operation based on these new reports. One can hope he went cheap on his production Insurance and this hits his personal finances.

I cannot understand why real guns with blanks are EVER used on movie sets. They can fake anything in the movies, so why not make fake guns and add sound with editing?
