The crew of Alec Baldwin's movie set were already concerned about gun safety before he accidentally shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, and they had walked off the set hours before she was killed, after they complained about long hours, shoddy conditions and two other incidents involving the 'misfire' of weapons.
The workers had been complaining about the fact they had to stay overnight in Albuquerque - an hour's drive from the set - and not Sante Fe because production wouldn't pay for their hotels, according to sources cited by The Los Angeles Times and multiple social media posts by film and TV insiders.
When they turned up to set to clear their things on Thursday, they found they'd been replaced by locals.
It begs the question of who those local workers were, what their training was and to what extent did they check the weapon before handing it to Baldwin, suspected to have possibly been loaded with a live round.
Deadline also cites an unnamed source who said a gun had gone off 'in a cabin' while someone was holding it in a cabin.
'A gun had two misfires in a closed cabin. They just fired loud pops – a person was just holding it in their hands and it went off,' they said.

I’ve seen movies going back to the 1930s and 40s where it seemed that was the case. Something looking slightly off about the angles.
Did anyone “rod” those weapons following the misfires? Sounds like a bullet was shoved into the barrel when only a primer fired, only to be propelled by a blank.
If there were two bullets in the barrel following the two misfires, then a live blank would end them off course.
I’d suspect the union thugs making a statement regarding the scabs.
Baldwin is done. He’s going to be sued until he has less than nothing.

That doesn't sound possible. Especially with a single action revolver. But even with a semi-automatic it's not going to go off when you are just holding it in your hand.
The article says there was a .44 caliber bullet in the victim's spine. I wonder how they identify their blanks to prevent loading live ammunition. I've never loaded or fired a blank before.
The actor should have verified the barrel was clear as soon as they handed him the weapon.
If Baldwin had simply shot his own dick off, I would be laughing, but seeing that this took the life of an innocent woman, I am not deriving any pleasure from it.
Maybe it is time OSHA took over the making of movies.;-)
That is a pretty serious accusation and while there are rumors to this effect around the internet, not one actual report from any outlet is going with this story. Do you personally know the witnesses you say will testify he said this?
I think Baldwin is a jackass but if he did what you say- he’s worse than that. Until it’s verified- it’s a rumor.

When I was undergoing boot camp training in the Marine Corps, we underwent live fire training where you have to shimmy along on the ground under live fire over your position. You could hear the rounds and everyone knew what was happening, but this movie set situation is mindboggling. Where did the live rounds come from anyway? How crazy can it get to have guns on the set that are capable of discharging live rounds? There has to be a better way.
