A deadly shooting on the set of the Alec Baldwin film “Rust” in Santa Fe County, New Mexico, has resulted in a debate among legal minds about the possibility and likelihood of litigation — even as many of the facts of the matter remain shrouded as of the time of this writing.
It remains officially unclear how a prop gun — generally outfitted with blanks — was discharged by Baldwin on a movie set. The gunshot managed to kill cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, and injure director Joel Souza, 48. The accident happened at the Bonanza Creek Ranch, a stereotypical western film set used frequently by production crews on the southern outskirts of Santa Fe.
...
However, the New York Post, citing Indie Wire, said that a union which represented prop masters learned that a “live round” was fired. The union said its members were not on set and that local “New Mexico crew members” were, according to the reports.

They have 6 children, the last via surrogacy.
Lee Marvin was a combat served Marine. Of course would hVe checked it, and not mis-handled it.
He was killed, but not by his own hand.
Sounds like something he would say..
Baldwin is the producer of the movie so no matter what he will be sued for beaucoup bucks.
What about her? Too many on these threads are gleeful that Baldwin will get his "comeuppance".....but at what cost? Sad.
lol
Is he liable even though he was handed the gun by someone else? I dont know, I’m no lawyer. I guess he could be as he could have checked the gun out first. This all sounds so fishy to me though. I wouldn’t be surprised if the regime uses this to ban ammo
That sounds like they may have a shooting take beforehand, which suggests a revolver, and a live round somewhere in the cylinder.
We need sensible Alec Baldwin legislation.
If Baldwin was an outspoken Trump supporter, he’d already be under arrest.
As is he should be charged with Manslaughter.
was not a prop gun which cannot fire a real bullet.
this was a murder weapon.
Call me cynical, but we are about to see another example of how the law is very UNequally applied in the USA.

You’re not being cynical at all, just observing reality.
In this country Lady Justice does NOT wear a blindfold.
Maybe Baldwin is not that nice of a guy.
HOW TACKY AND IRRESPONSIBLE
They keep on rerunning Murder, She Wrote on the granny network up here (Vision TV) over and over. With the same guest stars and even when Caitlyn still lived life as Bruce, lol.
She was also an extra for the street scenes when they needed people milling around in the street.
Baldwin is one of the producers and thus responsible for the prop master / armorer, as well as for the firearm handling. The guy has been doing movies with guns long enough to have learned basic safety.
Well that, and, if is is a single action revolver, he had to cock the weapon and he would have had an opportunity to see if a chambe was loaded.
Minimum, he should be charged with manslaughter, he caused the death of an innocent person.
Pointing an operable firearm at someone could be interpreted as intent, so murder could be on the table.
Accident seems to be the buzzword in all the stories, but is the investigation complete?
