Yup, it is mainly the micro corrosion from getting wet that dulls a razor blade, not the drawing across the face action.
Your palm will hone a commercial razor better then any “from TV” thing. You are so correct it isnt even funny. Dry it. Hone it. Keep it from moisture. Your $50 23 blade will last a long time as would the cheapest disposable if you hone it before use an take care of it.
Heh... or just throw it in the dishwasher with the rest of your spoons.
