Accident my a$$.
That was plain old negligence, on many levels.
Two people shot, not one, neither was an actor. He aimed at them. Given this evil man’s temper and drunkenness, it really makes the “accident” suspect.
You bet. An accident is getting hit by an asteroid. This was negligence. Did the shooter use the gun in a manner which put others in danger, regardless of it being a prop gun, using blank type loads etc. Faulty load? Or did someone load it with the real deal?
Negligence is always an accident because there is no intent. There can be such a high degree of negligence, though, that it turns into a crime. An example would be a drunk driver who kills someone. Still an accident because there was no intent to kill, but an accident that showed such reckless disregard for human life that it is an accident of the criminal variety.
Baldwin as the shooter and the producer of the movie is going to be looking at a huge lawsuit, but criminal prosecution seems unlikely based on what we know so far. I hate to see that girl dead, but I don't mind seeing the rest of Baldwin's pathetic life ruined.
