That was going on at our Walmart during the Covid panic. I’m not sure if it still is. I left a full cart on the floor and walked out when I found out AT the checkout that cash wouldn’t be accepted.

Good for you.
Good job! Given the IRS, I am betting that we are going to a cash/barter system pretty quick.
People will withdraw all their money and hide it. In the Mattress Bank of America. ;)
I like your style of leaving the cart there full. We actually did the same thing way back in the 1990’s at a new Lowe’s store where we lived in Bremerton, WA. The stupid clerk kept telling us 15 different things concerning getting what we wanted, where, sending us all over the store, different ideas of where to get it that was totally wrong. Like a new employee on the first hour of work and doesn’t even know where the bathrooms are. If she didn’t know, I wish she had just told us that. We got so fed up, my wife said let’s go, I am tired of this and we went to the other hardware type store that was in business there at the time, Eagle. That was where everyone went until Lowes came in and finally bought Eagle out and closed it down. But, we walked off and left everything in the cart in the middle of the aisle.
