The do-gooders on the Left like to complain about how much food is wasted in America. But they don’t seem to realize that a lot of the overly cautious practices that result in wasted food are driven by “brilliant ideas” from the do-gooders on the Left who want to keep us all perfectly safe.
I’m a big “second harvest” advocate. Twenty pounds of strawberries which will go bad in two days sure makes great preserves. Cauliflower browning on the crowns pickles nicely. Apples with brown spots make great jarred cobbler fixins. Apple cake too. Not to mention pies.
