ice cream machine made its appearance and we turned the handle until we froze that

The life stories of Charles Payne and Dr. Ben Carson are just as compelling. They, too, matured while being raised by strong females.
Must confess, not an avid reader of magazines. Bill Clinton’s reign cured me of such habits. The propaganda seen during this time was too great to attempt to stomach.
Went cold turkey and stopped paying for the trash, dropped
subscriptions and passed on by when shopping in the stores.
That being said, these days when ‘Andre’ might be mentioned
first come to mind would be “champagne”. :-)

Had a similar experience visiting former neighbors who owned a small apple farm. They had an apple press that required turning. Lovely autumn day. Kids running around. Parents chatting and laughing.
Something about squeezing juice from fruits brings back the simpler and more soul-satisfying family time that Americans of an earlier age enjoyed.
