Antisemitism still common in the EU: study
Deutsche Welle ^ | 10.14.2021 | Bernd Riegert

Rabbi Slomo Koves was preparing to speak about Jewish life at a high school in a small, industrial town in Hungary when suddenly the headmaster had concerns. “The head of the school told me that he wanted me to be careful because most of the kids are first-time voters — and most of them will vote for the extreme-right Jobbik party,” Koves said.

Koves, from Budapest, insisted that he would be okay and the first question he asked the students was: “What comes to mind when you hear the word ‘Jew’?” Their answer, he says, “was a curse word.” […]

“My dream,” says Koves, “is that we will not have in the future any European kids who will feel intimidated for being Jewish. No Jewish kid or teenager should be afraid to live by his or her Jewish identity … and I have a dream that no teenager in Europe will ever think that the word ‘Jew’ is a curse word.”

But there may still be a long way to go before this dream can be realized. A new study published by the European Jewish Association (EJA), an alliance of Jewish communities and organizations, clearly shows that antisemitism is deep-rooted — and even increasing — in the European Union some 80 years after the Holocaust.

Rabbi Slomo Koves is presenting this report at the annual meeting of European Jewish leaders in Brussels. It is based on a survey of 16,000 people in 16 EU member states conducted by the market research agency IPSOS. […]

There are still plenty of antisemitic prejudices in Europe, according to the new study. They include global cabal conspiracy theories, blaming Jews for Christ’s crucifixion, and allegations about “dubious business practices.” …

They should focus on America. Specifically, the Democratic party. They’ll find lots of anti-Semitism there.

The EU is representative of the international wing of the Democratic Party and vice versa. After all, it was aided by leftists in the USA in its founding, which was inextricably tied to the United Nations and the Charter thereof according to the machinations of Alger Hiss.

I do not doubt Rabbi Koves‘ report for an instant. But it’s worth noting that Hungary is one of the few nations in the EU that is trying to preserve the traditional values of Western civilization.

And that makes Hungary a target for the EU elite.

Make sure you know what you mean by “traditional values”. Not all of those coincide with the Founding Fathers’ values.

Of course, where Hungary does indeed uphold those values, the EU attacks. And that was my point.

Yep. I’m of Hungarian descent, and I follow Hungarian politics rather closely. The prime minister, Viktor Orbán, is on balance a good guy. But he’s got a bit of the strong-man tinge to him.

My few relatives still in Hungary tell me Orbán is starting to wear out his welcome. I just hope his successor will be, on balance, a good guy too. Hungary does not need any more socialists.

“My dream,” says Koves, “is that we will not have in the future any European kids who will feel intimidated for being Jewish.

The influx of Muslims into Europe makes that less likely.

Yet many Jewish activists and leaders seem eager to make the influx more likely.

Jewish support for Muslim immigration has two effects:

1. Importing Muslim anti-Semites.

2. Making native Europeans (who are also victimized by Muslims) less sympathetic to Jews.

Hungary does not need any more socialists.

I'm less worried about Hungary's economic policies, than whether it can continue to protect its borders. It's under a lot of pressure from the EU, NGOs, Biden, etc.

Good point. As you might know, Hungary has an extremely effective border fence. The fence had cut illegal immigration down to almost zero.

But some globalist/socialist prime minister would need only ten days or so to tear that fence down - just like how Biden dismantled Trump’s border wall.

This is not news. Europe has been voting against Israel in the UN for decades. Europe has financed the terrorist PLO
and Hamas, paying terrorists and their families stipends for
killing Jewish women children for decades.

Abbas masterminded the Munich Olympic massacre and got
away without prosecution.

Even the Arab nations who joined the Abraham accords know
that the Marathon 20 year peace talks where the PA/PLO propaganda campaign they never wanted to reach peace.
If Jordan and Egypt made peace with Israel in 1967 why has there been no progress , its because the fake Palestinians
don’t want peace.

Jordan is the home of the Arab who want the Land of Israel where they never had a country, king, no history as anything
but migrants.
