I was once given a bunch of numbers that obviously were not legit. Someone coming in from Mexico or Guatemala would not have a S.S. number for being born in the Northeast. I told this to my boss. Was anything done? Nope I was told just to file it away.

I also believe one big way to prevent the cheap labor express besides acting like the border is a border is to stop over-regulating businesses so that wages don’t have to be stagnant in order to meet the cost of regulations.

So what is your solution? How would you reduce the influence those who most benefit from cheap labor express have on law makers and regulators?
It occurs to me that one way to keep down the hiring of illegals would be if the insurance companies underwriting worker comp policies let it be known that no matter the status of individual employees if it is shown illegals are on the job site the worker comp policies on all the workers would be cancelled. That may be extreme and it certainly is up for debate.
