I listened to a debate/discussion between Jordan Peterson and a guy named Slavoj Zizek, an Eastern European “neo-marxist.”
It was an intellectual discussion between the to, but clearly had a portion of ANTIFA /college marxists in the audience.
When Peterson made a conclusion to a line of reasoning that “true communism” by consequence would necessarily result in chaos, destruction and mass murder - a portion of the crowd cheered loudly.
Peterson comments on that episode regularly, to point out there is a segment of people whose thinking is depraved enough and so dominated by ideology, that they always are wishing death and chaos upon society.
This is how you get genocide and atrocity.
I heard people say things like that when I was in college in the 1980s.
The only way to remain pro-abortion is to keep oneself in willful denial that the unborn child is a human person. Otherwise one can only conclude that abortion is murder. I never fail to drive this point home when discussing abortion and not letting the one in denial change the subject or get off point.

I went to college in the 1990s and I did not. Where did you go, on the west coast? I mean sure there were always pro choice but not like this. There was no talk of heartbeat bills and such because technology was not this advance. We were still using old school ultrasound machines.

That is called turning a blind eye and deaf ear to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, and ignoring the universal moral code written on everyone’s heart- Which results in Hardening one’s heart against God-
There is truth to that, but one doesn’t even need the prompting of the Holy Spirit to know that the unborn child is a human being. You only need normal reasoning ability that God gives to all men. As St. Paul said in Romans 1:

In addition to this, we now have unequivocal science that proves human life begins at conception. So even the most pagan and reprobate person on earth has no excuse.

Why is that sickening? That’s how it is SUPPOSED to be - the mother and child coexist for about 9 months, then the baby is born.

My dear youngest cousin (who was a very nominal Catholic) once told me as much. I told her before the last election that it was immoral to vote for a political candidate who openly worked to promote abortion. Her very words were, "I don't care." She ended up dying suddenly a few months ago. May God have mercy on her soul.
