I tuned in for the 9th inning. Always exciting to see a walk-off finish... and to hear Chavez Ravine crowd roaring over the strains the Randy Newman’s “I Love L.A.,” which is one of the greatest city anthems ever IMO. I know that it’s far from a musical masterpiece, and the lyrics are kind of tongue-in-cheek ridiculous, but it’s catchy as hell and it fits its town.

I’m surprised the I love L.A. song wasn’t sung in Spanish. The Mexicans call L.A. “Mexico City del Norte “. L.A. sucks. So does professional sports.

As a Padres fan, was was pulling for the Cards and their Cinderella 17-game win streak. Now the Dodgers and Giants, the two 800-lb. gorillas of the NL West, go at each other.

Grew up as a Brooklyn Dodger fan, until they turned tail and moved to LA. Despise them as much as the Yankees, pulling for SF to knock them off.
