I've read a lot on the use, and the global suppression of that usage, of HCQ in the treatment of Covid-19. A while back I ran across PQQ... Pyrroloquinoline Quinone. It could prove to be a useful substitute, in combination with the other elements of the HCQ Protocols.
My guess would be no, or at least no reason to think it would. HDQ as well as Ivermectin are both anti-parasite medications, as is the new pills that Pfizer and Merck are working on. As far as I can tell, PQQ is not. Perhaps fenbendazole, which is another anti-parasite drug would be more likely to work.
First thread posted, so try not to laugh too hard... :). Of course, a donation will follow. The value of the thread will be substantially better if someone who knows how to ping can bring in some of the medical talent that abounds here. The lives possibly saved may be yours, or yours’.
I’m taking both HCQ and Ivr as prophylaxis and see no reason to change my regimen. I’m also taking Quercetin, Vit D3, Vit A, Zinc, NAC and some others. But those are all OTC.
PQQ basically helps your mitochondria multiply.
I’m not immediately sure how that helps with COVID.
I do take PQQ.

Do have more Energy?
You are right and it’s a very potent antioxidant. There doesn’t seem to be anything on PubMed about it fighting the SARS virus.
I can’t specifically trace my energy level to PQQ.
The hope is that my cells are doing what they need to do, better, with new, younger mitochondria added in the mix.
The reason for utilizing HCQ is principally that it is a zinc ionophore - IOW, it changes the charge on zinc ions in order to help zinc enter the cell. Zinc is what stops viruses from replicating (including Covid - it isn’t magic, it is just a virus). Stopping this replication early is utterly critical - because it isn’t the Covid that kills you, it is the over-reaction of your immune system, a cytokine storm, that does. That’s what they medical authorities missed (I believe intentionally) when they designed studies to give HCQ and zinc only to hospitalized patients - geez, guys, it is too damned late at that point - they’re in the hospital because they cannot breathe, they’re already past the Covid and into the cytokine storm).
Effectively, HCQ is the gun and zinc is the bullet - neither works without the other.
There are, however, other zinc ionophores, among them Quercetin and green tea extract (specifically the ECGC contained in it). See this study - they are effective: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25050823/
My 47 y.o. wife had Covid last November, and she is both overweight and diabetic. I started her on 50 mg. zinc with 500 mg. Quercetin and Green Tea capsules (with 325 mg of ECCG https://www.lifeextension.com/vitamins-supplements/item00953/lightly-caffeinated-mega-green-tea-extract) twice a day. She was miserable for about 5 days (body aches, coughing and fever, plus no sense of taste or smell), but never had any trouble breathing - this while people both younger and without these comorbidities were going to the hospital and even dying. I also gave her lots of Vitamin C, Vitamin D and a good quality multivitamin - and I am sure that everything helped.
Since then, I have kept researching the subject of how to treat Covid at the outset of symptoms to stay out of the hospital and to recover more quickly. NAC is highly effective to keep your lungs clear and to stop the cytokine storm. https://www.lifeextension.com/magazine/2020/ss/protect-your-respiratory-system
Believe it or not, something as simple as Pepcid AC and Zyrtec (famotidine and cetirizine, generic names) can, in combination, also do a lot to relieve both congestion and the cytokine storm created by Covid - for less than $0.25/day (which is why you don’t hear Fauci and the other government and medical drones talking about it): https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32871242/
LOL! I can say I take 40 mg a day and never noticed a problem with my stomach, or elsewhere.
Harmful if swallowed? Bullshit!
https://www.lifeextension.com/vitamins-supplements/item01647/pqq-caps
They wouldn’t be allowed to sell it if this was the case.
PQQ as an aid to fighting Covid is new to me, so I cannot even hazard an educated guess as to its effectiveness in that realm. However, it is NOT “harmful if swallowed.”
Does it require a prescription?
HCQ and IVM are available cheap on Indiamart.com with about 3 weeks shipment -- or faster if you pay more. Get it before you need it.
If you need it NOW, there is a list of good U.S. doctors who prescribe it HERE.
No, it is Over The Counter (OTC)
We get the “Health Thru Nutrition” brand PQQ, 20 mg capsules, on subscription from Amazon.

This is not intended as a replacement for HCQ among those able to get it, but as a possible substitute for those who can’t. I’ve heard of quinine water and similar things being constructive but that seemed like a low-odds proposition. ..............................................................................................................................I’m thinking that PQQ may also function as a zinc ionophore. ..........................................................................................................................................No prescription required.
