Brian Laundrie manhunt: Cassie Laundrie unleashes after Gabby Petito homicide

Florida fugitive Brian Laundrie’s sister told protesters outside her Lakewood Ranch home Monday that her family has been ignoring her following the disappearance of her brother and the death of his fiancée.

When asked if her parents were helping Brian Laundrie evade authorities, she said, "I don't know" and that she hadn't been able to speak with them.

"I'm in the boat where I'm getting ignored by my family and thrown under the bus by my family's attorney," Cassie Laundrie said to a group of protesters Monday in video shared by TikTok user @chroniclesofolivia.

The lawyer Laundrie seemed to be referencing, Steve Bertolino blamed the media. "I do not represent Cassie Laundrie," he told Fox News Digital in a text message Monday night. "Cassie’s comments can only be attributed to the press twisting my words and hers, which were only given to clarify prior mischaracterizations by the press, with the hopes of further sensationalizing this tragic story."

"We are just as upset, frustrated and heartbroken as everybody else," Cassie Laundrie and her husband told the crowd. "I am losing my parents and my brother and my children’s aunt and future sister-in-law on top of this."

Yes, and understand there is justifiable homicide if it was self-defense, or defending another person, and accidental homicide. Neither is murder which requires criminal intent or recklessness. All of the facts aren't available.

I detest the press for building this story as they have.

This kind of story gets a lot of air time at the expense of the stolen election, and the absurdity of the Bidet Regime.

I also dislike it when the family of the deceased entertain the press at the funeral services. But then the press will do what it wants regardless.

And yes....this story is a diversion that came about just when this administration needed something “else” for the public to see.

Again!, this isn't a court of law, it's an OPINION forum. If you believe what you're saying, why are you on FR giving your OPINION on any news article posted? If NOTHING posted is evidence, why discuss it?

What you are doing is called gossiping about someone. Understand that none of the Laundries qualify as "public figures" for libel purposes. Write the wrong thing and you could be in court needing to prove what you wrote is true. Saying it was just your opinion may not matter, or at least be an expensive lesson.

imaginably, LE has a fairly good idea of the time of death of the utah lesbian couple. if they can estimate the time of death within +/-12 hours, this would give them at least the day on which the murders occurred. with this, they would need a brian alibi for only (for example) ~24 hours within the 4 day period of aug. 13 to aug. 17 to be able to rule brian out of consideration.

The victim, Kylen Schulte who worked at the Moonflower co-op wasn't working at the time. Her shift ended about two hours before the incident. The two victims told there friends about a creepy guy at their campsite, no mention of a couple.

Another theory is Brian had been to their campsite alone, then went to the Co-op to stalk the girl..

Unsolved murders and Petito case leave dark cloud over Moab

The 24 hour separation period from the 12th to the 13th Brian stayed at a motel/ shelter the police set up for him. Gabby picked him up around 6pm at about the same time the two victims were last seen entering Woodys tavern.

Interestingly during that four day time period 14th to the 18th neither Brian or Gabby made any social media posts and their location can't be determined because their gps tracking was turned off.

According to the Dyrt app Gabby was using to find campgrounds it's believed they may have stayed at a campsite five miles from were the victims were later found.

The utah lesbian couple murder scene is approximately 13 miles southeast of moab. in contrast, the entrance to arches national monument is approximately 3 miles northwest of moab.

thus, the choice of a south of moab campground seems to indicate a change of plan by gabby and brian which must have occurred during or shortly after the night of august 12, when they were given a free hotel room by the police.

five miles away from the murder scene would seem to put their campground in the vicinity of ken’s lake campground, one of the only campgrounds in the area that appear on google maps.

maybe (note: very speculative) schulte and/or turner witnessed the brian-gabby altercation outside the moonflower community coop. schulte and/or turner approached gabby to try to console her. they quickly became acquainted and then friendly towards each other. they may have exchanged contact info or campground location info. brian however resented gabby making new friends for whatever reason. gabby found out the schulte/turner campground info and shared it with brian.

the general impression that i get about the lesbian couple murders is that they had already been considered missing for several days by karen schulte’s father sean-paul schulte when they were discovered. since they were discovered on august 18, this implies to me that they are likely to have passed away earlier in contrast to later in the time period in which they were missing, that is, august 14 or august 15.

i wonder what campsite was pointed to as used by gabby/brian by dyrt.

at least to me, the sudden decision to turn south rather than north from moab seems somewhat concerning given that the murders occurred only a few miles away and very close or at the time that gabby/brian stayed there.

i’m still perplexed by the speed at which moab LE determined that gabby’s homicide was not related to the lesbian couple murders. one of the articles lambastes the moab LE as being particularly inept. how did they suddenly acquire blazing expertise to be able to utilize it in the lesbian couple murders case? why is the moab population still not convinced that their LEOs are competent?

Petito had flagged possible campsites on US 128 along the Colorado river as well as the Porcupine rim area of the Manti La Sal National forest which is approximately five miles north of where the victims were found.

Nobody confronted Petito and Laundrie outside the Moonflower Co-op, they got in the van and left just before the police pulled up.

Nobody knows where Gabby stayed the night of the 13th, but most likely the same campsite they stayed the previous night.

Both Petito/Laundrie and the two victims were staying at van life campsites..

People involved in drugs or other illegal conduct can find themselves in a bind when someone dies accidentally. One case that I remember involved an accidental suicide. Some guy had one too many, or was under the influence of something and found the host's handgun. Either not believing it was a real gun, or thinking it was empty, this guy decided to play the clown, put the gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger. When he realized the police were on their way, the host was making trips rushing to the bathroom to flush his illegal recreational drugs. So, he was plainly destroying evidence, but it wasn't because he was guilty of murder.

Some people will do anything to get their 15 minutes of fame. If someone was so beloved by the local community that everyone wants to attend, that's fine. Allowing media types in to exploit the family's grief is in bad taste however.

Funny how George Floyd's death came at just the right time to give cover for BLM's domestic unrest before the election, and now this keeps getting air time when the audit results are being trickled out piecemeal.

Aha, thanks. Informational question: what is a “van life campsite,” and how if at all does it differ from a road on which parking on the side(s) is allowed?

It seems possible that Gabby and Brian met and camped with or near Kylen and Crystal before the Aug. 12 traffic stop.

I wonder if there is a list of gabby and brian posts on the net. apparently gabby posted the initial trip blog video to youtube on august 19 while brian was in florida.

Their social media accounts are still up, you can read their posts. Same with the Dyrt app however I can't remember the account names off the top of my head, I would have to go back and dig.

The police had separated them for 24 hrs, I haven't heard anything about her staying with him, it's probably just a rumor.

I actually didn’t associate drugs with this case...but possible that also could be in play eventually. .... Again, evidence just hasn’t been presented.

After reading that story of “accidental suicide” it shows that everything is not as it might seem.

I watched a video last evening where officers stopped a car , short story the 3rd guy who finally got out of the car came out with a semi machine gun blazing. Now these two officers were talking to the guy about kids and family....it is no wonder officer MUST assume the worst and be prepared.
