An intruder was mauled to death by a pair of dogs after breaking into a Georgia home last week, according to local authorities.
The homeowner, who was not named, discovered the body of 21-year-old Alex Binyam Abraha on his front porch around 10:30 am on September 24.
Authorities said Abraha successfully entered the two-bedroom house in a rural area of Newnan the night before, and was immediately greeted by two pit bulls inside the home.
The sheriff’s department initially called in homicide investigators from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation thinking that Abraha's death was a murder.
However, the medical examiner eventually determined he died from injuries sustained during the dog attack.
Fox News reports that the homeowner told authorities he did not know Abraha nor did he know how he got in, adding the man had no reason to be inside the house.
Both dogs were seized as a part of the investigation by the county's Department of Corrections. As of Friday afternoon, it was not immediately clear what will happen to them.
Pictures of both dogs were tweeted by Doug Evans, a journalist with local Fox affiliate WAGA-TV.
Abraha, who grew up in Worthington, Minnesota, had several active warrants in Fulton County at the time of his death, Fox News reports.

He was planning on marrying the mother of one of his children, undoubtedly, and only became involved in crime to raise money to buy baby food for them.
Is anyone interested how he got out of the home? He was found on the front porch.
I am so tired of punks getting a free pass from our liberal society. I have no sympathy for criminals anymore. Good dogs!

He did not die in vain. He relinquished his misspent and brief sojourn in this vale of tears to provide his fellow man with some amusement on a Saturday afternoon.

Could have been bitten and managed to get out before bleeding to death. Helluva way to die, but it might discourage others.
A lot of black people who live in bad areas keep vicious dogs. Occupational hazard. (The other people who keep vicious dogs are drug dealers.)
I guess pit bulls prefer dark meat. :-P
GOOD NEWS!! The local TV news report that’s linked in the article reports the hero doggies won’t be euthanized and will be free to go home once they’ve completed a rabies quarantine period.

I had a real scare with my home broken into a few years back so I had my young Rottweiler trained for my protection. He didn't bark at the sign of an intruder, so when he attacked it was a large surprise. Fortunately, he never had to use his skills except on the trainers assistant who was padded from head to toe, but it was a nice feeling knowing he would. He never showed any aggression on his own though, and he had a command that you had to use, so I'm not sure he would have reacted the ways these dogs did.
