There will always be psychopaths among us. Nevertheless, there is truth in what you said. The welfare state (plus the outsourcing of factory jobs) turned too many weak people into unproductive and aimless animals.
Trump understood this. He tried to make a difference. So of course he had to go.
Ok. I’m reasonable and I differ. Shooting someone in the head demonstrates clear intent to kill them. Instead of dying as the shooter intended, his victim will almost certainly be mentally and physically diminished for the rest of her “life”, with every hope and dream ruined — that’s if she is lucky enough not to be a vegetable on a breathing machine. She will almost assuredly die much sooner than she would have.
Please explain why you feel would-be thieves and murderers, unsuccessful just by chance or lack of skill, deserve leniency?
I didn’t say leniency. My interpretation of “eye for an eye” doesn’t mean you pluck out the perpetrator’s eye. It means we as society must make them make full restitution to the person for the disability they inflicted. They must make up for and make restitution for the eye they took. These people absolutely belong in prison for a while. But every productive activity they do, in prison or outside, needs to go to offset the damage they did to the victim.
I’m so fortunate to have moved away from major population centers like LA and Vegas. As the posers in D.C. continue to eff everything over, it will only get worse and worse in these big cities.

If it is reasonable and justified for the victim to resist with deadly force, then maybe execution should be on the table.
I doubt this is the first felony for either of the perps. I would go for, after the second felony, looking at ALL their crimes, including juvenile, and letting a jury decide if they really want them around.
A yearly tradition.
Here's an idea: the 13th Amendment allows slavery to be imposed as a punishment for a crime. Sell them to the Chinese.
