New Zealand weightlifter Laurel Hubbard has been named sportswoman of the year by the University of Otago.
She was awarded this title by the university based in Dunedin on the South Island of New Zealand at the Blues awards on Tuesday.
She is the first transgender winner of the award in its 113 year history celebrating sporting greatness.

It’s probably more complex than you are expressing.
In the case of “sports”, I find it particularly odd that women were so easily led with the “grass is always greener” argument to compete in male sports. What we term “sports” have evolved over the centuries to select what is masculine in men. They are really geared to testosterone. It shows in top male athletes. It shows in top female, athletes, now, too.
Whatever selected for the feminine in women has been jettisoned by this communist movement. With it goes the family.
Women athletes can stop this unfair competition. They must simply refuse to participate. Just imagine if nine women and one man freak transgender lined up at the starting line and the pistol went off. Then nine women stood up and slowly walked back to the changing room. This crap would stop!
