Something is going on in this segment of science. There are a considerable number of research groups studying the matter. -Sidebar Moderator
I’m not sure of the history, but I think Parkhamov was the guy who replicated Rossi’s effect just by reading what Rossi wrote. Since Rossi isn’t really a scientist submitting his findings for peer review but more of a tinkerer trying to become a trillionaire, that is a bit like learning magic from watching a magician.

When I was little I used to make aluminum and sodium hydroxide hydrogen/heat generators.
It cost very little money, and it worked very well for filling up balloons which you could then light on fire and study the hindenburg effect.
I wish I lived next to you.
How long did the heat last? Sounds like sumthin I might like to play around with on camping trips.
Nothing wrong with tinkerers.
The Wright brothers were tinkerers.
Edison was a tinkerer.
Yoshiro Nakamatsu is a tinkerer with a Phd................
Over 1.1 MWh from 1.2 grams of fuel would be amazing if it can be significantly scaled up.
There are always problems scaling up these reactions. I think the best approach is to keep the scale where it is, sell it as a battery charger or small heat generator until someone understands the process enough to really make a big kaboom.
Well, Rossi is a tinkerer with a cloudy past, so his tinkering sounds a lot like fraud. He came up with his own phrase to judge him by: In Mercato Veritas. Since there’s nothing In Mercato, there is no Veritas.
I hope he becomes the trillionaire he wants to be. You can follow much of his progress on his own web page or at EcatWorld

Total excess energy generation of about 4100 MJ.
Seems like quite a lot.
The megajoule (MJ) is equal to one million (106) joules, or approximately the kinetic energy of a one megagram (tonne) vehicle moving at 161 km/h (100 mph).
Unit system: SI derived unit
Kilowatt-hours: ≈2.78×10−7 kW⋅h
CGS units: 1×107 erg
SI base units: kg⋅m2⋅s−2
Without even knowing what a MegaJoule is... when you look at it as ‘how many megajoules produced for how many dollars of public money invested’, Cold Fusion becomes 25 ORDERS of MAGNITUDE bigger bang for the buck than Controlled Hot Fusion.

Joule=Watt x Second
One Joule is equivalent to one 3600th of a watt-hour.
So 3600 Joules is 1 watt-hour.
One Megajoule would be 278 watt-hours, or enough to light a 60 watt lightbulb for 4.6 hours.
Yes, I look there form time to time..............still waiting................
