We already have a monetary central-planning agency, called the Federal Reserve. But its powers are not as concentrated as neo-marxists and social-engineers would like. To get where they would like to be, they need to disintermediate and eliminate private banks, have all individuals and businesses connected to one "central bank," and above all, have digital currency whose algorithm can be twisted any way they wish.
