Santa Cruz County has lifted its indoor face covering mandate as the CDC reports they have lowered their COVID-19 transmission rates.
Advertisement According to the county, the CDC reported Wednesday morning that the county has a "moderate" rate of community transmission. A drop from "substantial."
The face covering order was lifted as soon as the CDC reported the new numbers.
This does not impact face covering requirements issued by the State of California including for unvaccinated individuals, school districts, businesses, venues or organizations.
Monterey County Board of Supervisors voted 3-2 to approve a final version of an indoor mask mandate that will go into effect in 30 days.
