As a pulmonologist and director of the palliative care unit at a Beaumont Health hospital in southeastern Michigan, Trunsky sees some of the facility's sickest patients and is often the bearer of bad news.
He gets it. No one is prepared to hear their loved one is dying.
But when a well-regarded intensive care unit nurse told him during a recent shift that the wife of an unvaccinated covid patient had berated her when she informed the woman of her husband's deteriorating condition, Trunsky, who has lost more than 100 patients to the coronavirus, reached his breaking point.
Still sporting his black scrubs, he began to vent [on Facebook]. He wrote about a critically ill patient who disputed his covid-19 diagnosis. Another threatened to call his lawyer if he wasn't given ivermectin, an anti-parasite drug that is not approved for treating covid. A third, Trunsky wrote, told the doctor they would rather die than take one of the vaccines.
One demanded a different doctor, "I don't believe you," he told the physician.

Trunsky's post detailing his interactions with eight covid patients and their relatives highlights the resistance and mistreatment some health care workers across the U.S. face while caring for patients who have put off or declined getting vaccinated. Trunsky estimates that nine out of every 10 covid patients he treats are unvaccinated.
His post - a plea for people to get vaccinated - also reveals the physical and emotional toll the pandemic has had on health care workers, who have been on the front lines for over a year and a half. Roughly 3 out of 10 have considered leaving the profession, according to a Washington Post-Kaiser Family Foundation poll, and about 6 in 10 say stress from the pandemic has harmed their mental health.

The Lancet article was retracted by them due to faulty sources. That’s not the same as “faking.” Again, not everything is a conspiracy. Studies since then have shown that hydroxychloroquine just doesn’t affect Covid. It’s incredible we’re still talking about it.
Was be sarcastic in response to the response I got about some tennis player who has filed for disability and probably suing for loss of income.
I’m not seeing vaccine reactions any more than you see from flu shots or shingles shots.

I’m not a big antibiotic fan. Just the opposite. You and I know of people who jump to give their kids antibiotics for every sore throat. They grow up with no immune system.
This recent “thingy” ie $8 was thought by me to be a virus, in fact I thought it might be the delta variant, as I never get Summer colds.
After coughing up junk for like the 7th day, I said enough, and reluctantly I started the Z-pac. Second dose it was like 50% better, then vanished by day 3. I finished the pills anyway, probably didn’t need to.
You’re right also, about the death tolls. Even though 700,000 Covid deaths, the annual number of people dying in the US hasn’t changed much? Maybe we’re counting the flu deaths as Covid deaths, any everything else as Covid deaths.
I was in a hospital setting, seeing dozens of Covid cases per day. I’m 70. I decided to get the vaccine. Everyone in out clinic got sick but me.
If I were not exposed, don’t know if I would have got the vaccine, I probably would have, as I was seeing people, young in their 40s very fit, getting sick, and bad sick.
Now, it would be much better to endure the infection and have a natural immunity.
I don’t see the need to get vaccinated at this point.
OTOH, if you are a beautician, manicurist, work servicing people...I’d say you’ll have piece of mind with the vaccine.
The misinformation out there is deafening, from both sides.

I think the vaccine is safe. I think it seems to protect you from the getting sick, not from getting the virus, but from getting sick.
So, let me ask you something. If you are close to 69 of over 60, you should be getting a shingles vaccine. Are you going to take the same stance, and avoid that too?
I think natural immunity is the way to go, when dealing with a virus that is not that lethal, like the. flu. Covid is hard on some people. I don’t know why but it is.
Shingles, is really bad when you get it in your older years.
I was listening to a New York doctor, (Zelenko) who is a big proponent of Zinc, but with Quercetin to aid absorption.
I think taking that plus vitamins K and D are probably helpful.
I took HCQ the first several weeks of the outbreak last year. Did it help me? Who knows.
I think a lot of people are immune to the Covid, because they probably had it. Many people have a one day sniffle from it.
Bottom line, I think the vaccine is very safe, so that is not the issue. Natural immunity is better, IMO, but there is some piece of mind having taken the vaccine.
Boosters? Not for me at this time.

What is your role in healthcare? That has a lot to do with whether you would see the adverse reactions of the shots.

Hospitalizations of breakthrough cases - 3.65%
Deaths of breakthrough cases - 1.05%
Unvaccinated (including partially vaxxed and vaxxed <14 days)
Hospitalizations - 4.29%
Deaths - 1.13%
I’m board certified in preventive medicine and occupational medicine. My clinic has given hundreds of vaccines to local business. Our hospital has vaccinated thousands. We’re not seeing the vaccine reactions the media is reporting. sorry to disappoint you.
We had two deaths at our hospital. Both people were vaccinated. They were terminally ill cancer patients.
I’m really questioning how accurate the PCR testing is. If vaccinated people are harboring the virus in their nasal pharynx, wouldn’t you expect them to be positive?

What’s with the snark? I asked a simple question. I am not rooting for bad effects, I just want answers.
I’m sure the testing is crap, but what I posted to you was not cases, it was hospitalizations and deaths as a percentage of cases. Also the testing failures would apply to both groups. Many asymptomatic unvaxxed test positive too, so that does not appear to be a unique feature of the vaxxed.
Your account does not match those with hcws I know personally here in North GA, nor does it match the numbers. I don’t know why that is, but it’s a fact.
So the vaccinated you know that died of covid had comorbidities. How is that different than unvaccinated? We know certain risk factors lead to bad outcomes. Apparently, that is true if you are vaxxed or not.
I know zero healthy people who died of covid. I do know of healthy young people who have had a bad reaction to the vax. One 30 year older works with my son and had heart issues 6 hours after the vax. I know several personally who died of covid who were vaxxed as well.
There are 100s of freepers who have seen the same, many long time trusted posters here. Just because your experience may be different, does not mean it is not happening.

You are just plain wrong and mislead. There are a lot more therapeutics than listed in this popular science article below. And many more to come. Doctors and hospitals are killing people wholesale. Easily over 100,000 of lives could have been saved if not for the government and medical community’s reluctance to use proven early treatments (just using the monoclonal earlier could have save this many).

I really don’t have that many people I socialize with. I know of two people that died related to COVID. One from the virus and from the vaccine (proven, several news articles discussed this). I am surprised your not that well read up the adverse effects of the vaccine, there have been several studies outside the US that are scientifically sound and damaging.
What does your clinic do for early treatment? Lack of proven early treatment has killed hundreds of thousands of people.
This virus has a greater than 99.95% survival rate for almost all ages under 65. Of the .05%, 80% of their deaths could have been prevented using monoclonal antibody treatment alone. Add possible steroids, remdesivir, hydroxychloroquine, and lopinavir treatments, etc...
The survival rate would be around 99.995%. Is the vaccine really needed if COVID is treated correctly?
Depending on the individual, we will use monoclonal antibodies, otherwise support and monitor.
And if they can’t be trusted then I guess you’ve sworn off medical care for the rest of your life?

That’s stupid. You never could, that’s why making informed choices about your healthcare is so important. You do know that MEDICAL MISTAKES are the forth leading cause of death in the US. Somewhere around 300,000 before COVID.
I still insist that half the current COVID deaths could have been prevented with proper care. The government was focus on Vaccines ignoring early treatments and hospitals and doctors throughout the country went along.
You can insist it all you want but it has little basis in fact. 🤷🏻♀️
