I’m hesitant to accept this as this could be an engineer that left Apple on bad terms and feels the need to spite his former employer.

It could be someone wanting to promote android at Apples expense.

There’s too much ambiguity to take this at face value. I don’t buy it.

I avoid apps to the greatest possible extent.
I use the Brave browser with site-selectable security features.
I don’t fret about much else.
80/20 Rule: get the 80% & be done.

Per the article, it appears it is more than the former engineer saying it. The engineer is saying the ‘how’, but the study is saying the ‘what’.
