Presumably, because the alleged crime of debit card fraud crossed state lines, and/or involved federally regulated financial institutions.

Because the ‘crime’ happened in a National Park, therefore its a Federal Crime.
I don’t like it or agree with it, but thats it. That’s why the FIB is involved.
