Antifa and the Mainstreaming of Antifascism
American Greatness ^ | 24 Sep, 2021 | Paul Gottfried

Through violence and its ability to create extensive support systems, Antifa looks very much like early National Socialism.

It would be a mistake to confuse Antifa with either classical anarchism or Marxist-Leninism. Although it borrows symbols and historical heroes from both, together with anarchist black flags and clothing, Antifa is distinct from older leftist movements. It blends with whatever leftist cause is ascendant and treats whoever opposes it as fascist.

The Antifa theorist Alexander Reid-Ross, who teaches geography at Portland State University, has come closer than anyone else to making sense of this movement’s targeting of certain enemies. In his book, which has been widely acclaimed among progressives, Against the Fascist Creep, Reid-Ross presents a picture of a fascist danger that never quite speaks its name, except for some indiscreet white nationalists who divulge their true goals.

Other promoters of the fascist threat also supposedly hide behind misleading labels, which renders them particularly insidious in the struggle against bigotry. It is precisely the cleverness with which fascists and their sympathizers disguise themselves that, according to Reid-Ross, necessitates the cleansing operation of antifascist groups. T. Keith Preston, an historian of anarchism, has noted that Reid-Ross and other defenders of Antifa usually sound like “John Birchers of the Left.” Like the Birchers who imagined that Communist agents were in disguise and had to be exposed, the antifascists have their own version of the hidden enemy, whom they are trying to combat.

Communism, fascism and socialism are all far left ideologies and the differences are in shades of nuance. Calling conservatives fascist is just ignorant name throwing.

There is an interesting dynamic now taking place over vax passports that may wake up the Antifa crowd as to what real Fascism is all about. The black community generally may just be waking up and I’m sure it is scaring the hell out of the liberal left. If the Niki Minaj followers, BLM, Antifa, and other blacks join forces against the passport push there is no telling where this will goes. Have the libs hit a hornets’ nest. I have heard various black groups will be protesting weekly outside the CDC HQ in Atlanta against the passport push.

William L. Shirer’s book the Nightmare Years chronicles the methods used by the Nazi Party as they eliminated their opponents and rose to power. The street thug SA component, Antifa and BLM, were wielded the same way Hitler and Roehm employed the SA. A reader of the book was also expecting the Reichstag Fire/Capitol false flag ruse. You’ll never guess how the story ends. There is something to look forward to. After the SA helped the Nazis gain complete control they became a very powerful, somewhat independent threat. Once the Nazis could utilize state organs like the SS (FBI), the SA and its leadership was purged. The same thing will happen to the true anarchists and racial black militants in Antifa and BLM.

Antifa... They are exactly what they say they hate which further proves the stupidity of the left.

Since the FBI has no interest in infiltrating and destroying these paramilitary operations of aunt teefa, Jihad USA, and BLM, they should be disbanded. How they can miss the true threats to domestic tranquility and the Republic shows them to be worthless.

Antifa is like a modern day “Red Army Faction”.
Watch The Baader Meinhof Complex.
They began as a anti war group and mutated into cold hearted assassins.
Antifa is going to end up the same way.

The Nazis won elections with some popular support; they were seen as a response to a communist revolution the government couldn’t suppress. When normal people wanted stability and the protection of private property, long before any mass murders, they felt the National Socialists were a better choice.

Many of those original Antifa in Germany over time became hardcore Nazis.

Antifascism has become one of fascism's most useful tools in attacking its libertarian enemies.

I doubt 1% of these doofuses are intellectually capable of realizing just whose work they are doing.

I think you saw it in the Weimar Republic, French Third Republic and our lost republic. Those centrists the majority of people thought they were voting for turned out not to be the protectors of the status quo. Rather, through fraud, greed, incompetence, apathy and treachery, these politicians pissed all three republics away.

Weimar had no “status quo” to protect; the monarchy had collapsed, and the replacement was so burdened with war reparations there was simply no way to fix it. The country itself was carved up, with some Germans finding themselves now living in Poland, France, Belgium, Denmark, and Czechoslovakia.

The Social Democrats represented Weimar status quo. From ‘28 to ‘32 is where the republic was pissed away. Hindenburg, although not a SD, was aligned with the SD and monarchists and was the leader of the status quo. Hindenburg, like Trump, was completely played by the opposition and bears the most responsibility for allowing the fascists to come power.

The problems started earlier than that with the hyperinflation after the war; average people couldn’t make ends meet. Hindenburg would do whatever it took to prevent communists from taking over the country.

We can disagree on these German points but there’s little doubt that we have ringside seats for the pissing away of our republic.
