Charles Murray is once again throwing kerosene on the tinderbox of American race relations.
Reviving the explosive argument he made in his 1994 book, “The Bell Curve: Intelligence and Class Structure in American Life,” the noted scholar is once again highlighting data showing that African Americans score lower on IQ tests than other groups in the United States.
Given the current climate, it is not surprising that his new book, “Facing Reality,” has been largely ignored by almost every major newspaper and magazine. But this dismissal is, ironically, a validation of his premise.
If his numbers were easily debunked, legions of journalists and social commentators would be lining up to do so. If the problem he identifies were easy to fix, they would be telling us how. Their unwillingness to engage Murray (pictured) is tantamount to an acceptance of racial determinism.
Make no mistake, “Facing Reality” – which also addresses connections between crime and race – is inflammatory. Murray not only reports that test cores suggest that African Americans, as a group, do have lower cognitive abilities than whites, Asians and Latinos, but he concludes that the problem is “intractable.”

The ugly side of a population's average IQ going up is a whole lot of that population has to be killed off to get there. Tribal warfare is the mechanism. No person did more to increase the Jewish population's average IQ than Hitler.
Possibly the longest, most brutal war ever fought was killing off the Neanderthals. Africans did not participate, which is reflected in modern genetics.
The Democrat party changed to represent city slicker interests after the invention of TV, as they found urban voters consumed by vanity and envy, and therefore much easier and cheaper to buy. Most Jews, Asians, and other minorities group together in urban areas.
Trust me on this. You’re not allowed to think about race and IQ.

The argument isn’t are there black people who are geniuses, There are obviously blacks who are geniuses. The blacks you refer to our mixed though. African Americans have a ten point higher IQ than indigenous blacks in Africa. Aboriginal Australians have the lowest IQ of any group, Asians the highest. Whites are somewhere in the middle, but they tend to be good at delaying pleasure, which is a strong indicator of success in the modern world.

This intelligence deals with our ability to move our bodies through time and space. Athletes and dancers exhibit a high kinesthetic intelligence. The ability to use our bodies to manipulate other objects in time and space is also indicative of a high bodily-kinesthetic intelligence.

Perhaps this is where Descartes went wonky. He thought that common sense was "a most fairly distributed thing." He said "the power of judging well and distinguishing truth from falsehood, which is properly what is called common sense or reason, is naturally equal in all men."

The guy is right but doesn’t get “pretend” politics. It is precisely what he concluded in his research that caused this “pretend” politics. He knows as well as we do that IQ is very hard to change. Now we 13% or so of population whose average IQ is right on minimum level of normal person and that again IQ is not improvable in short time and that we owe them due to slavery history. What can you do? We created politics and cultural env where we pretend we are on same level of IQ so that we can get along
True story, a senior analyst lead (black) in our financial organization, one day asked me how to compute change percentage of a number. In his case, he has a number1 that is changed over time to number2. I helped him of course. I came from different country English is not my native language. I admired him because he is extremely articulate. But cognitive capacity is so-so, to say politely and he is senior lead in a financial organization. Different country different culture
Go on to You Tube. Once that's in your search YT algorithm it's there for days or weeks, and you are bombarded with suggestions. Search for surprise practical jokes. (Jumping out of boxes, wearing a scare mask.)
Note the race of who does what. Whites jump backwards, flee instead of fight. Blacks lunge forward, instinctively, to fight instead of flee.
I do not make any judgement. Just something I've noticed. And to notice this is apparently racist. Hmmm...
Very little of The Bell Curve is about race. The big takeaway from that and Belmont vs Fishtown is that half of all people are below average in intelligence, and that the smart people who shape society would do well to foster meaningful, dignified work, stable marriages, and traditional morality in all parts of society.

The very fact that democrats consistently vote Democrat, and have since the 60’s,(LBJ’s Great Society plantation) says that common sense is NOT “a fairly distributed thing.” Very few have realized the logical Conclusions of voting democrat year after year. They just keep voting for “today”. never thinking of the long term effects. “Can’t” or “Won’t”? I say Can’t. They cannot think beyond “now”. They either refuse or are completely blind to let the past help them to understand what the future entails if they continue on the path they’re going down.

There are individuals of all races that peg the meter in both directions.
I was just reading up on Haiti and the island of Hispaniola. Half of it is Haiti and half of it is the Dominican Republic. Haitians are descendants of African slaves. Dominican republicans are descendants of Europeans. Look at the difference on the island.
There’s a line down the middle and you can tell which side is Haiti. It’s brown because they don’t know how to take care of the land even. Dominican republic is green and much more financially prosperous.
I wonder what the cause could be? All the missionaries and all the financial aid, nothing can help the prosperousness of Haiti. Is it the same in Philadelphia or Harlem?
I’ve read a few studies of this nature as well. Considering the instability of many of their homes it’s not hard to understand that possibility. Oprah tried to open good schools for black girls in the inner cities....she pulled out because the will to study was not there...they simply didn’t want to do the work study to get ahead. Oprah took her schools to Africa then where they want to study and do.
I had quite a few students of this IQ level in my high school classroom. They struggle a great deal with reading comprehension, math and abstract concepts. They can be trained to push buttons on a calculator, but generally do not understand the underlying concept or purpose of the exercise.
For a peaceful society, it is important that we have meaningful and productive work for such individuals so that they can care for themselves and family members. I've taught very intelligent and profoundly unintelligent students of various backgrounds. Those who did best in developing their God-given ability were those with loving and involved parents. I believe this is a big part of the answer going forward, but it means overcoming generations of societal decay. Not easy.
