An “underwater recovery team” has joined the search for Gabby Petito’s boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, in a 25,000-acre Florida reserve, according to reports.
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office dive crew arrived at the Carlton Reserve on Wednesday to look for Laundrie, a person of interest in Petito’s death in Wyoming.
The Sheriff’s Underwater Recovery Force, or SURF, is a team of “highly trained underwater specialists,” the sheriff’s website says.
“Area resources are looking at large bodies of water, including dive teams, boats, and sonar equipment,” North Port police spokesman Josh Taylor said. “At this time, this does not mean anything has been found. It’s part of the overall search process.”

Those Haitians bought airline tickets to Mexico or tickets were given them. Mexico didn’t worry about the hordes of Haitians coming in because they were just in transit to the US and if someone bought that airfare for the Haitians then Mexican officials were paid off, too.

Gabby’s Florida BFF had the goods on the creep — Gabby had to spend time at her home because he would get violent. Laundrie was jealous of the women’s relationship and tried to thwart it. Stole Gabby’s driver’s license when the two wanted to have a ladies night out and hear some music. The friend said Laundrie would “hear voices” telling him to do things. Schizo/narcissistic/sociopathic asshole. He’s on the run somewhere, but it’s not at that swamp over which law enforcement has swarmed.
That sounds about right.

Gabby is their perfect foil, so perfect an offshoot of the story is the inherent racism of covering missing white girls, while ignoring missing girls who are of color.
Risking the lives of rescue squads especially since he’s likely not there but sipping umbrella drinks on a beach in some non-extradition country.
And it begs the question did Brian take off and run before the date he was reported to have gone hiking. Sure seems like it if this neighbor’s account is accurate.
That 72 hour reported disappearance of Brian might be closer to double that now.
