Te French used to smoke heavy, eat loads of fats and sweets, and were quite healthy- it was figured that the reason was because they would have their heaviest meals mid-day, then Go back to the fields and work it all off by quitting time, then go home and eat light supper hours before bed time.

Today many folks eat high fat foods, and sit around all day, and load up at or shortly before bedtime. I think a lot of America’s health issues began when we came in fro fieldwork, or good manual outdoor work, and took deskjobs, and loads of folks went on welfare and didn’t work at all. They get not much welfare $$, and spend it on crap food and fats, the sit around all day. ( not everyone of course, but many do).

I think it has to do with the process and lack of additives.

Not sure, but it works for me.

You kind of touched on something here.

All the ‘butter, bad; margarine, good’ studies of the 60s were paid for by the vegetable oil industry.

We always have to think on our own and not rely on the so-called ‘experts’ to tell us how to live.

I eat too much! But no sugar potatoes or breads. Mainly veggies, little meat and yogart AND nuts/walnuts...love crunch. My blood work is WNL. You think nuts could keep me overweight??

I doubt that nuts keep you overweight, unless you are really eating them excessively. If anything, they probably provide some satiety. They usually have a good bit of fat, protein, and even fiber. One useful trick I’ve employed is to take a serving out of the tin, put it away, and never eat directly from it. If it’s open and within reach, I tend to just keep munching until I feel bad. Measure your total caloric intake over the course of a week, and do a modest reduction. Most people drastically underestimate their intake. If your blood work is WNL, then you should proceed slowly with weight loss.

A very simple bit of advice to people would be to shop the perimeter of a grocery store.

Do you mean pasteurized versus not? It is possible that micro-spheres of fat are absorbed differently (homogenization), but, normally, people wonder if fresh milk's extra components are more helpful.

No, I meant breaking down the fat particles through homogenization.

I drink raw milk all the time.

Love it.

The products the study appeared to identify as being used by participants would likely be homogenized.

When they reduce the fat, they increase the sugar. Trust cows over scientists.

IGF-1 (growth factor) is bad for adults and comes from dairy protein. It tells cells to grow and helps spawn cancer. Avoid dairy protein but take in dairy fat such as butter and whipped cream.

I don’t buy low fat dairy products. Full fat milk, cheeses, heavy whipping cream etc. You fill up faster and get what your body needs.

Foods have more vitamin a than we need. The government foeces milk sellers to add vitamin a to skim milk.
