It is quite possible a search warrant will be served very soon for the Laundrie home in North Port. LEO have cleared the street. Multiple police cars.
He may have told them that he was going to the reserve; and then left the car and went somewhere else. Who knows where he is?
poorly thought out alibi? I left her at the park and went hiking the Snake River and when I got back....
except were that a true alibi, he would have called the cops, wailed and knashed his teeth and put on a good alligator tear show
it’s unfortunate the gal that says she picked him up hitchhiking, didn’t find a way to get him in a video clip for positive ID. I’d do that if I picked someone up, just for safety factor.
Does it make sense that his parents would remove the car, leaving him without a vehicle to get home...presuming their story remotely resembles truth?
I have no idea what distraught people in this kind of circumstance might think or do.
As I understand, the reserve is not that far from his home - about 5 miles.
Observable in the video...
Stockholm syndrome. The victim blames herself for the whole problem. It’s all he fault. Hand gestures are sweeping inward, assuming and swelling in all the blame to her, but her body language isn’t one of confessing or humbling hereof to her errors, they are that of convincing...a mark of deception. Her words and mood and body movements are in conflict.
Him...”everybody wants to tell their story”. He admitted to TELLING her what to do, forcing himself upon her to TAKE HER KEYS TO HER OWN VEHICLE. In this he admitted to “a little violence” then justified his actions, then went into “convincing mode”...guilty conscience. Example; sir have you been drinking tonight? “Officer I only had one beer with dinner”. Admit to lesser offense...tell your “story” in the effigy to convince “hey in just s normal guy, everyone due it, you sold just overlook it”
He did it.
She was going to leave him and he couldn’t handle the fact that he’d never be with such a beautiful woman again. In his mind, his life would be over. Shame based mindset, he’d be a loser forever, because it was all on social media and everyone would know she dumped him. Remember, these are social media narcissists...low self worth, self loathing, entire identity is based upon what others think of them.
But, he’s a wuss. He doesn’t have the brass to off himself.
He’ll surrender with a whimper, crying “mommy”.
...that is all
Distraught isn't the word I would use to describe the Laundrie parents.
From Sarasota Herald-Tribune:
Spotify songs may offer clues
Four songs by English artist Matt Berry were added to a
playlist on a Spotify account Petito and Laundrie share on
Aug. 31, the day after Petito’s mother last received a
text from her phone.
Some of the songs are about love.
One song, “Take My Hand,” includes the lyrics, “We’ll
disappear to a pub that’s not too far from here.”
Another song is about a dying badger.
Then there's “Woman.”
“Your woman is your angel, is your left side, is your
whole life,” Berry sings, “easily the most beautiful thing
in the world.”
“She’ll soothe you. She’ll accuse you. She’ll confuse you.
She’ll lose you, but always be the best right friend
you have in the world.”
What do you think the parents should have done? He was an adult, and they couldn’t force him to do - or not do - anything. He may have just taken the car and gone off.
He wasn’t a suspect, so the police couldn’t force him to do anything either. and I don’t doubt that the parents were in touch with the lawyer throughout, and taking his advice.
So many details regarding what may have gone on in that house, and so many Freepers who are so sure that they know all of them...

Don’t know until someone pinpoints the discovery site— as related to where the van was on that day she was probably done in. Very sad.
Intuitively from the aerial shots of the searchers on horseback it seems to be in the same area, so perhaps it did give the bloodhounds a starting point- perhaps from an item in the van they seized in FL (blood stains to match, and other evidence- have yet to know, they still are looking for the fiance).
You’re welcome. Charges of obstruction of justice and impeding an investigation could result from their behavior. Accessories after the fact isn’t out of the realm of possibility. And anything of that kind is made more likely if their monstrous offspring winds up killing himself or dying in a shootout with the law.
But now that she has been found, there will be a much clearer picture of what happened. I don't expect that will satisfy the ones who hold these theories, though.
Most of all, my thoughts are with the family of the young woman. They are facing an unimaginable pain, and a different world awaits them. Having lost a child myself recently, this anguish seems inconsolable. My prayer is that anger will not overtake them, and they can feel the love that has poured out for them from all over the country.
This is the girl who said she was very OCD about keeping things neat.
What was the investigation that they impeded?
He was never named a suspect; and once they ‘lawyered’-up the police didn’t seem to do much investigating.
And we don’t know what’s going on with them in the last few hours.
Yes, many of them will.
I knew someone who worked at a nursing home. She said a son brought his mother there one day and said he'd come back to have dinner with her. He never came back.
I keep thinking about him flying back to Florida and moving all their stuff out of storage. When did they call off their engagement? (Her mom said they were no longer engaged because they decided they were going too fast and wanted to take more time.) When he was moving their stuff out of storage, did he find something that set him off and into a rage? Her friend said he was controlling and did not like her to spend time with her friends. Regardless, she’s met a terrible fate.
The natural reaction to a loved one being attacked by a bear is to call the authorities, not behave like a guilty man, running and hiding.
In context of the photo this the seem to be the signs of “neat and ocd”.
The flippies are perfectly side by side. Left with intent.
This is what a neat caper would do...leave the dusty with shoes just outside the door styling in barefoot.
Most people who do this don’t perfectly pair the left and right shoe so orderly. They would remove them, but not necessarily aling then perfectly.
The what appears to be mom and other items are stacked. And stacked neatly.
One wouldn’t normally leave a book on the ground for long durations. Maybe you’d do so if you were stepping way briefly, but otherwise, you’d put it in the camper.
I suspect that the book and other item were placed temporarily.
