That’s dreadful. Get the jab to keep the job. Gets jab, loses life. I hope his wife makes life a living hell for the employer.

LOL. I was thinking about that when I got my flu shot the other day. I was wondering if they would actually do that to people.

I hate that “it WOULD have been worse!” Excuse.
They have no idea.
This disease is rather random.
Trust me. My whole immediate circle got it amongst ourselves. My hubby and I and cousin were all hit pretty heavily with the fatigue a good while, but never even went to a doc. None of 5 of us went to a hospital, and we all got well within 2 weeks, including my elderly mom. In some ways, it was bad, but in others, we still recall other illness we had that was much worse.
My MIL is the only one I know who was hospitalized and who died. Out of quite a few of our family and friends.
So, most of us might say it wasn’t much different from a bad cold or flu. YMMV.
I haven’t followed Chris Rock closely, but I wish him a successful recovery. He’s very talented even if he’s also misguided.

Yep, I keep hearing that too. Got Moderna in January and February 2021, came down with my annual summer cold in August, 2021. Sneezing fits, sniffling stuffed-up nose, blah and tired. Got tested due to being hospital volunteer. Test came back positive, so quarantined for 10 days. Nearly everybody is telling me - "Good thing you had the vaccine - you would have been a lot worse!" Gag me...
Yes, and if I wasn’t clear….ALL the people I think of were not vaccinated…this was before any vax were out.

You need to do some further research on the human immune system including its strengths and weaknesses. Vaccination is intended to stimulate your immune system so that it produces antibodies specific to a certain disease without causing the disease. If the vaccination is successful, the vaccinated individual’s immune system will be primed to recognize a new exposure to that virus (coming into the body) and have a head start on fighting it. In many cases the person’s “prepped” immune system will be able to defeat the invading viruses before it’s able to build up to a detectable level of viral load.
Even where it has been prepped by vaccination the vaccinated person’s immune system will not be able to prevent a detectable level of infection from building up. Where that happens the immune system will still be able to mobilize and defeat the virus before hospitalization is needed and/or death occurs.
People vary on how strong their immune system is and exposure to the virus can vary from slight for a short time or heavy for a long, continuous time.
Because that’s what their religion tells them. They believe “it would have been worse” had they not taken the shots. The shots are their communion, and the masks are the priest’s robes. Fauci is their Pope. The unvaxxed are, of course, the infidels.
Perhaps a few boosters will help him REALLY not get COVID? Then again he is close to 65…
