I have to laugh at all the crime shows (fact or fiction) where they track the perps whereabouts using cellphone data.

I am stunned that criminals would use cellphones during and after a crime.

That is beyond stupid.

Smart criminals use those surveillance techniques to their advantage.

There was a great scene in the epic Pacino-DeNiro movie “Heat” where the high-tech bank heist gang under surveillance by the LAPD all vanished at the same time. They knew they were being tracked, so they all ditched the electronic devices at the same time and left them to mislead the police. The police even found that one of their tracking devices had been removed from the target’s car and had been rigged on a bus to another city. LOL.
