Police will suspend part of Melbourne's public transport system for six hours on Saturday in an attempt to thwart planned anti-lockdown protests.
Trains, trams and buses will not run into the CBD between 8:00am and 2:00pm, and extra police will be stationed in the city to fine and arrest people trying to take part.
Meanwhile, the City of Ballarat has re-entered lockdown and will remain under those restrictions for at least seven days after recording four positive cases and multiple wastewater detections and exposure sites.
Premier Daniel Andrews said the lockdown was necessary because if the outbreak got away from health authorities in one part of regional Victoria, "then all of regional Victoria will be closed".
"People don't just stay in one part of the regions, they move, they travel, they work."

It is working out so well down-under.
When do the shootings start?
Also, I forgot to mention that there is a big protest planned for Melbourne’s CBD(central business district)for Saturday.
It’s a good thing they are heading into their spring, not that they get much snow anyway.

I get it now.
They can lock down till their economy just collapses and still wont make a difference. Powermonger Idiots.
Australia is merely returning to their prison colony roots.
NOT working, is it guys!
Next they’ll want to apply the same measures as when pig get swine flu, i.e. slaughter the whole population and bury the bodies in a mass grave.
What the hell does Australia need nuclear subs for? They’re killing their whole country with never-ending lockdowns.
Nobody has the balls. We certainly don’t.
Australia is going full-blown communist.
When do they start machine-gunning the protesters?
Hopefully, the "we're not gonna take it" mantra takes hold.
