OR, she was having intense anxiety and emotional issues because she was terrified, especially after she saw, knew or was involved in the shooting of the two women. IMO, this guy was way too calm, cool and controlled, under the circumstances and way too willing to let her take sole responsibility.

If he killed her, which he probably did, he must likely has both phones, or disposed of hers. Not a lot of help.

Laundries problem is that he refuses to say anything. It makes him look guilty as all heck. He shows up, alone, with her van and won’t speak.
I admit it doesn’t look good at all.

you don’t need the phone. you need the cooperation of the carrier or manufacturer.

Did the boyfriend do it? Probably. However, bodycam video from the police stop last month shows Petito crying because they were arguing and she was OCD. God only knows what finally happened, but it doesn’t look good for the guy.

Right now, there is no evidence that a crime has been committed. I’m sure there has been, but without a body or witnesses, there is nothing to hold the boyfriend on.
My son in laws sister used to beat herself in the face and blame her baby daddy.

I am not 100% sold that Brian did anything to Gabby.
He may have abandoned her in the desert, but maybe he did not kill her by his own hand.

I'm thinking now that he offed those two women, then offed her later. At the time of the body cam incident he had already committed double murder and she knew it and was terrified about it.
