Laundrie, who has since returned to Florida, has reportedly hired a lawyer and refused to cooperate with authorities.
Hiring a lawyer and refusing to cooperate with authorities is good advice for anyone who the police wish to talk to - there are way too many horror stories about what has happened to innocent people who talked to police without a lawyer present. But the fact that this guy is back, safe and sound, while his girlfriend isn't, and no explanation - doesn't sound good.

No ‘public’ explanation. He may have given his story to the police and it just hasn’t been made public. There is a LONG list of disappearances in National Forests. Some of single hikers and others of someone who juast stepped away from a group. If she suddenly disappeared when she was out of his sight, what would he do when he would be the sole suspect?

I agree. There are enough over-eager prosecutors, even if I were 100% innocent, I wouldn’t want to put my life in their hands to convict me so they could win their next election. I no longer trust our court system. Particularly a black grand jury and court jury would probably convict me with absolutely no evidence. I’d lawyer up too!

Hiring a lawyer and refusing to cooperate with authorities is good advice...Esp when you are about to become the primary suspect in a girl's disappearance.
