I’ll admit I don’t follow Your post at all. I was referring to an old comment/joke about God is a Longhorn. Why ? Because the Sunset js Burnt Orange. (Team colors are Burnt Orange and White.)
Way back in the 70’s - 80’s the Longhorns beat the Razorbacks and I was living in Austin, My Brother was in Little Rock. As a joke I sent My Brother a Sympathy Card with all the newspaper clippings that I could find.
He told Me that if I ever did it again He was going to whoop My butt.
I don’t follow any stick and ball sports anymore. When I did I was in Austin. One day I was visiting Doc, an old guy that used to work at Dirty Martins Kum Back Burgers down on the “Drag” and He was fighting cancer and had no Family so several of His regular customers were helping Him. I had grocery shopping and delivery that week. As I’m putting away the food there was a knock at the door. I answer it and standing there was Earl Campbell from the Horns just stopping by to check on Doc. That was pretty cool to meet Him.
Back when Austin was fun....I mean it still is but it’s a city now and traffic and of course the core of leftists that make so much more racket than normal folks ...many of whom still live in and around Austin
I’m a Jackson Miss native....
When folks my generation left ....a handful ...mid to late 70s still went to San Fran
Some to NYC ...a lot to regional cities like Dallas or Memphis or Atlanta or NOLA
but the cowboy hippies went to Austin...now they are old like me and live out side of Austin in rural ranch land in the Hill country
They chose well in my opinion
I am in Nashville area now and frankly I like Austin better except for seasonal change
Nashville has a glorious fall...less hit summer and on occasion a real winter
