Saddam killed jihadis, suppressed Islamists and kept Iranian influence at bay. One of the dumbest things we’ve ever done is remove him.

Really?

Bush saved us from President Gore and President Kerry !

Both of those elections were near things.

As for the wars, well I think we probably attacked the right people.

After all, Those poor little innocent Taliban that 0 freed, are now running the country. So our intel was correct on them.

Me too. I have never figured out posting HTML images, but I could post a pic of me & W in the Oval Office in 2006 when he invited me, Victor Davis Hanson, John Keegan, Gabor Borit, and one other historian whom I forget to a one and a half hour discussion about war and history at the White House.

It was an honor, despite how W. turned out. Tokyo Rove gave us a quick tour of the Roosevelt Room (amazing that an American President could receive BOTH a Medal of Honor and a Nobel Peace Prize), then we met W and talked for 90 minutes.

First we talked Lincoln, as he was currently reading a book about Lincoln, then the war in Iraq. Hanson did most of the speaking, and I only contributed maybe one comment. As I said, Hanson talked most of the time. Then we had photos.

Total honesty: I supported the invasion of Afghanistan, though thought we should have left Bagram and pulled out after a year letting the spooks find OBL. I supported the invasion of Iraq.

As a historian, looking at the situation in 2002-3, I don’t think ANY person in the Oval Office-—given all the (as we now know, DEEPLY FLAWED info)-—could possibly have done differently. Remember at the time the following intel services/nations ALL said Saddam had WMDs and al-Qaeda:
*Britain
*China
*Russia (Putin made a special warning call to W)
*Australia
*Spain
*Egypt
*Jordan (these last two both personally told Tommy Franks Saddam had WMDs and planned to use them)
*Germany
*The UN
*And our own lying CIA.

But the point was, the message was consistent everywhere. I don’t think any president could have ignored that.

All that said, since then, W has gone full woke, chumming with the evil Obamas and Slick, opposing Trump, and generally being an ass.

This latest comment makes him my enemy and puts him in the McTurd category as a poison to America. But just like Paul Craig Roberts used to be sensible and is now nuts, people change, sometimes drastically.

W starts a war...20 years later he goes out on the 9/11 anniversary and declares veterans of that war the enemy (or at least suspect citizens).

Everyone consider your own families to somewhat understand what is happening.

In every family there is one member of the family, sometimes more than one, that people give a pass to for some inexplicable reason.
This person somehow affects the whole family dynamic.
Nearly everyone goes out of their way not to upset or offend this person.
Even though they know there is something not right about that person.
They are to demanding, authoritarian or needlessly strick.
But for some unknown reason everyone plays along?
Out of fear? Or,so as to not rock the boat or they can mostly live their lives by ignoring them.
This is the person that everyone is relieved when they move far away or die.
Suddenly everyone is more relaxed and open.
These Jr dictators reside in the top levels of our government or have to much influence outside of government.
The remaining politicians are the fearful,or the don’t rock the boat or ignore the problem and maybe it will go away.
And of course to many of them are just in it to get what they can for themselves.

Like most I was a big Bush fan when he became president. I supported the Iraq War because of the WMD claims. Now I see they were BS. Getting rid of Saddam looks like a personal revenge in hindsight. All that wasted American blood for what? Now, I don't even recognize the George Bush that he has become. Looks like he joined the Uniparty.

Wow talk about abusing the English language. Isolationist, I don't think you know what it means.

Is China isolationist? China practices out right economic mercantilism. So again I ask does this make them "isolationists"? I'll answer: Those belt and road mf'ers are not isolationists.

You are a simpleton buffoon.

I was, and still am, a great fan of Rush Limbaugh. He was, however, completely wrong about Bush. When he (Bush) refused to stick up for himself and fight back against the attacks from the Left Rush would excuse him by saying it was due to his great reverence for the office. In actuality he didn’t care because it was all part of the game. He even had Rush snookered.

Like they say, it is not the sons or daughters of politicians who fight and die in the battles they get us in to.

After his first visit to the White House, late 80’s very early 90’s, Rush was never the same. After he changed due to his WH visit I stooped listening to him (Rush). Not immediately, it took some time to realize that he was now a “kinder more gentile” Rush. Or for us “deplorables” he became a BushBot.
