I agree, it is all a bizarre charade. Tax “revenues” really don’t matter, and spending discipline by our government no longer matters. They just keep printing more money. Or at least this is so on the Federal level. And also for blue States (which is another reason they had to get President Trump removed from office. California and New York needed someone to bail them out after they crashed their economies - and thus they got their billion dollar “Covid relief” grants when they executed their coup).
Bizarro world. They can’t play this game forever. Before long we’ll turn into the Weimar Republic, or Zimbabwe. But until then … keep the presses running, and use the tax system to keep the unwashed rabble in line.
For DECADES now we've not taken in enough taxes to pay the ever increasing bills!!
