The New Face on Mars:

"A round spot where the rover abraded part of the rock's surface, nicknamed "Bellegarde," is visible under the hole on the right.
Tailings (or cuttings) from the Montdenier coring activity slid over Bellegarde."

Everywhere you look in this universe you see gas and rocks and stuff on fire.

Here's the sunniest post of the day:

By the start of October, all Mars missions will be standing down from commanding their spacecraft for several weeks, a protective measure during a period called Mars solar conjunction. Perseverance isn’t likely to drill in South Séítah until sometime after that period.

Well, the first light in America only rises first on Mars Hill through September 18th.

Gotta luv JaPUNese:

"Dreamer"

ドリーマー

Though considered a toy by some, Daruma has a design that is rich in symbolism and is regarded more as a talisman of good luck to the Japanese. Daruma dolls are seen as a symbol of perseverance and good luck, making them a popular gift of encouragement.

>>>

When purchased, the figure's eyes are both blank white. A user will then select a goal or wish and paint in the left eye of the figure's two eyes with Chinese or Japanese ink. Once the desired goal is achieved, the right eye is filled in.[1]

>>>

Darumas are still usually made of papier-mâché, have a round shape, are hollow and weighted at the bottom so that they will always return to an upright position when tilted over. In Japanese, a roly-poly toy is called okiagari, meaning to get up (oki) and arise (agari). This characteristic has come to symbolize the ability to have success, overcome adversity, and recover from misfortune.[6] In Japanese popular culture on cards, banners and books, Daruma is often illustrated alongside the phrase "Nanakorobi Yaoki" (七転八起), translated to mean "seven times down, eight times up".

>>>

The eyes of Daruma are often blank when sold. Monte A. Greer, author of Daruma Eyes, described the "oversized symmetrical round blank white eyes" as a means to keep track of goals or big tasks and motivate them to work to the finish. The recipient of the doll fills in one eye upon setting the goal, then the other upon fulfilling it. In this way, every time they see the one-eyed Daruma, they recall the goal. One explanation how this custom started says that in order to motivate Daruma-san to grant your wish, you promise to give him full sight once the goal is accomplished. This practice might also have something to do with the "enlightenment", the ideal attainment of Buddhism. This custom has led to a phrase in Japanese translated as "Both Eyes Open". Referring to "opening" the second eye, it expresses the realization of a goal.[14] Traditionally, the Daruma was purchased as a household item, and only the head of the household would paint in the eyes.[15]

>>>

Daruma dolls also come in the form of Princess Daruma (姫だるま, hime daruma) and Lady Daruma (女だるま, onna daruma). This contrasts greatly with traditional representations of Dharma, who, accredited as the father of many martial arts, has traditionally been depicted as very masculine with rough facial hair.[18]

Funny, I was about to hit "post" when Roberta Flack suddenly came over the portable radio in the window with a still small voice from the past:

The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes

And the moon and the stars were the gifts you gave
To the dark and the endless skies, my love
To the dark and the endless skies...

Roberta Flack - First Time Ever I Saw Your Face 1972

Released March 7, 1972

Which reminds me of the Girl

Made In Japan - Buck Owens

Released April 3, 1972
(and then Ingenuity was born on that date 49 years later in 2021, from the belly of Perseverance)

Who is the Girl Made in Japan? Because Shekina bright.

ェキナ

Shekina

See how her name starts right off with a smile?

Her smiling eyes always seemed to try to understand
All the love in my heart for the girl made in Japan

Just more Goroawase, because besides written characters reading in multiple ways, it's the sun and the entire universe:

Nihon: "Origin of the Sun", Land of the Rising Sun, and a "Sol" is the name of a Mars-Day.

In case anyone might want to link this back up to word plays on the rock named Rochette (Rochelle, Rachel):

The first eye is named Montdenier. The second, Montagnac. And the title says that "NASA's Perseverance Rover Collects Puzzle Pieces of Mars' History".

AGNAC DENIER <---> A GRANDNIECE.

Makes sense. In the Jewish traditions Rachel's grandniece is Osnat, the daughter "from Dinah", Me-dina.

There's all that stuff about how Joseph recognized her true royal genealogy.

traditional representations of Dharma, who, accredited as the father of many martial arts, has traditionally been depicted as very masculine with rough facial hair.

AGNAC DENIER <---> NICER AGENDA

:)

Head for the sunny side!

It's a weird little world out there..

These are stone tools. Just ask Richard Hoagland. He has been correct ... not once.
