The Big 12 extended membership invitations Friday to BYU, UCF, Cincinnati and Houston to join the Power Five league that will be losing Oklahoma and Texas to the Southeastern Conference.
The eight continuing members of the Big 12 unanimously approved the applications of the four schools.
The moves come six weeks after the SEC invited Texas and Oklahoma to join its league in time for the 2025-26 season, though there remains the possibility that could happen sooner. For now though, the Big 12 appears focused on the additions.

Yeah why not? It about nothing but the money anyway.
And what about the East Westchester Northstars, Champions of the Southern Conference?..........
Interesting that Memphis was not on that list.
So what happens when Ok State and West Virginia decide to leave, as they inevitably will.
Would you want to play away games in Memphis?
Basically the Big 12 is no better than Conference USA.
Speaking of Big 12, did anyone see how the Kansas fans rushed the field after they beat FCS South Dakota?
I mean how bad is your program, when your fans rush the field when you beat an FCS team? The funny part was the look on the Kansas players, like “What the heck?”
The PAC-12 as well...
I dunno, UCLA is looking pretty good so far.
UCF looked pretty good at one time...

BYU is a good addition. Cincinnati and UCF not so much. Houston.... great golf program.
Would you want to play a game in Houston?
Why is WVU not in the Big Ten or the ACC?! Geographically they never fit with the Big 12. It was a panic move caused by the collapse of the Big East.
Ok State.... where can they go?
Any win by the Kansas football team, being so rare, is worthy of rushing the field.
