Cool site with video news clips in slow and simple Finnish. Closed captioning too. Something like VOA's Special English TV.
To BRL and other Freepers learning Finnish.
Study hard. Master these languages and make friends. Communists are global, so the right needs to be linked up as well to trade notes and concentrate efforts against the globalist conspiracy.
Meanwhile, never stop delving deeper into English. In this degenerate era of lame education & literature, we all have gaps in our English, no matter how much we may believe otherwise. And opposehigh rising terminal (HRT) (uptalk), infantile "verbing", and other attacks on our language.
Anyways, check out the link. Please do not share with leftists.
Thanks
There is a relatively new YouTuber Finnish with Sean who, despite not being a language instructor by trade, has an impressive approach to teaching language. You might want to start with his vids.
Well what a great thing it would be to see a wave of conservatives mastering Finnish and linking up with Finnish conservatives (there are some, and more are adding to their ranks by the hour). You never know, this might be the start some new anti globalist awakening and movement in which those good folks play a special role.
That’s extremely cool. I like that path you described that led you to the language. Seems like you are doing great, and indeed commitment is the key.
Is this thread Finished?
No so suomi
I know a bunch of Finns here where we live...liberals polluted by politics
They love their Death Metal in Finland.
I have not seen that channel. I am surprised because I am subscribed to so many channels like this one. It is very good. Thanks for showing me it
Are you in Astoria?
They got it all over there. Including a few exceptional rappers.
A lot of work to be done against leftism.
Definitely above the average youtube language teacher. Most welcome.
Thank YOU...just finished a first pass thru Sean’s “numbers” video...I LIKE!!!
Lolz
He’s got a gift. Especially when you reach his verb conjugation video, you’ll see what I mean. Anyways you are most welcome.
I spend a lot of time with "Kourmuri Leo" ," Kappo", "TaikkaLinna". I have listened to various kids songs with captions "Leijona ma Metsastan" but these cartoon-songs are surprisingly tricky to decode for a beginner. I pipe the audio from the stuff I listen to right into a microphone and into google translate. It can take me an hour to go over just a few minutes of some of these cartoons. But I am slowly but steadily making progress. There are a lot of other more audult things I listen to and with the help of google translate I can get the general idea of what they are saying. RIght now I am focusing on a guy who does fishing videos. His pronunciation is good so I can use google plus understand his stuff, plus I like fishing.
Also, I mentioned before, but I have a Finnish native speaker who lives in Tennessee and I hire her for about 4 hours a week (2 - 2hour sessions - I have a session in a couple of hours today) And I ask her tons of questions. I have had her make some recordings for me too. I do not do much speaking with her based upon my general approach to learning a language (This is based on watching many youtubers on how to learn a language and my belief that hacking Finnish words in strings like I would say them in English is just a waste of time when my tutor can enlighten me on so many other things). I do a fair amount of reading to her from beginner readers and ask her questions about the grammar/structures/meanings as I read. It can take an hour and a half to just go through a few paragraphs.
I notice google translate often misses the nuances of case endings, so I seldom use it much as a learning tool. I mainly just resort to it when I'm overwhelmed, like when an online friend messages me a very long political-related message lolz. On the other hand, google translate works far better for Finnish than it does for non-European languages.
