Having spent years hiking and climbing and our children do the same, this one is concerning.

I think this looks like a movie, so two hours will be needed.

Honestly, it can’t be too concerning. We’ve never seen anything like this before. The odds are a gazillion to one.
We obviously need to worry a lot more about rattlesnakes, falling off a cliff, bears, sunstroke, cougars and flash floods.

Aw, c’mon man. Let’s just say it out loud:
After over a year of being confined under edict, the immunologically-isolated family ventured out into the wild and succumbed to unknown biological hazards from which otherwise normal people - aka ‘the free’ and immunologically-exercised - would be unaffected.
There. /s
Sarcasm and dark humor aside, without regard to the actual cause, there is a certain logic to my statement as it applies to everyone else.
I thought it ‘fitting’.

The temperature at the time, according to the sheriff's office, ranged from 103 to 109 degrees. That alone sounds miserable.

I recall that, and was thinking there would be burns???
Right here in DuPage County!
‘’Heard never really made it back, and neither did Nichols,’’ Trevino recalled. ‘’My heart stopped, and the doctor told me if it wasn`t in such good shape, I`d have been gone. Like two ball-peen hammers in my ear, it went from my feet through my shoulder, I`m lifted off the ground, then I`m down, shaking like a leaf. Had four burns on my back and needed two back operations. I felt real warm when it got me, and a lot of pain when I regained consciousness.’’

I would think toxicology reports searching for poisons would be back by now. Wouldn’t they already know if the algae was responsible or not?

When it comes to my kids and grandkids, I’m concerned about everything little thing.
My daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids are out hiking as I type.
#1 son just returned from climbing in Idaho...

Saw this happen to a herd of cows in Alabama one time. Lightning struck the tree they were all huddled under to get out of the thunderstorm.
They were just ‘dead’. No marks, burns, etc.
The big oak tree however was just split in half.

I would think a strike in their near vicinity. It would be evident in a tree, probably. It’s odd. I’m not sure what they may have eliminated that has them still speculating.
