I’m a respiratory therapist. With the fourth wave of the pandemic in full swing, fueled by the highly contagious Delta variant, the trajectory of the patients I see, from admission to critical care, is all too familiar. When they’re vaccinated, their COVID-19 infections most likely end after Stage 1. If only that were the case for everyone.
Get vaccinated. If you choose not to, here’s what to expect if you are hospitalized for a serious case of COVID-19.
Stage 1. You’ve had debilitating symptoms for a few days, but now it is so hard to breathe that you come to the emergency room. Your oxygen saturation level tells us you need help, a supplemental flow of 1 to 4 liters of oxygen per minute. We admit you and start you on antivirals, steroids, anticoagulants or monoclonal antibodies. You’ll spend several days in the hospital feeling run-down, but if we can wean you off the oxygen, you’ll get discharged. You survive.

That is paranoid.
I understand that. My point was that if early treatment and prevention was made available this would not be #1. It still could be on the list but only after those treatments failed. The do nothing till you need to go to the ER approach is killing people.

Be your own spokesperson regarding your vax advocacy — otherwise, your arguments come across as paltry anecdotes.
Also, posting an occasional article about a vax victim would give credence to your RIPs.

Coming from the New York Times...oops, the LA Times, I feel pretty certain the primary goal was not the conveyance of information as much as it was the stoking of fear.
I am all for people getting vaccinations if they choose. I am dead set against mandating an invasive medical procedure, which if not submitted to, results in the loss of livelihood, and soon, liberty to travel or go out into society.
That I what I am fighting with tooth and nail right now. Unfortunately, I see too many people right here on this very forum who are willing to go along with forced vaccination and the conversion of those who don't comply into "others".
That is the real long term danger from this virus. This virus is going to make people sick and sometimes kill them. It is what viruses have done for millennia and will do in the future. We better learn to deal with it as people have always dealt with viruses excepting those that kill a large percentage of those it infects.

They REFUSED to treat my husband for the pneumonia he had the second time he had covid. They sent him home telling him that they couldn’t treat it.
They never treat pneumonia? Never. Really?
1. Take 5000 IU a day of vitamin d starting today.
2. Have the following ready for if you get covid, vaxed or not: tabletop nebulizer (with full nose and mouth mask); food grade hydrogen peroxide (not the cheapo 3% in the brown bottles - they won’t work); sterile or distilled water, plenty of it. Also, liposomal liquid vitamin c, quercetin capsules, and zinc lozenges. Also, rubbing alcohol to clean the nebulizer parts.
3. At the first sign of covid or what could be covid, begin nebulizing hydrogen peroxide diluted 1:10 with sterile (or distilled) water, 4x a day. Any symptoms in the lungs, like coughing or pulling or tightness in the chest, up it to once per hour. Each session should be in a bathroom where others don’t spend time (except maybe someone so close to you that they are already exposed), for about 10-15 mins. Clean with hot water each time and with alcohol at the end of each day.
4. Also at first sign of covid, take vitamin c (1 tsp 1-2x a day) and zinc (up to 3 lozenges a day), and quercetin once a day.
You won’t die and you won’t need a hospital.

I agree, but I have to cut some slack in this particular case...it is an “Opinion piece/”Letter to the Editor”...but on the other hand I don’t see any Op-Ed’s with an alternate view being published by the L.A. Slimes.

They don’t provide any antivirals or monoclonal antibodies in the Illinois hospitals of those I know who went in and were in the ICU.
If you O2 is below 94%, no monoclonal antibodies for you.
How many is good enough. 2nd booster, 3rd booster or now the hyped 4th. I know it’s every 5-8 months.
Really. Defend all you desire. It may be time to clean house of these types.
